Meet-ups: Etiquette?

I've never met anyone from BDW. I have spoken to a couple girls by phone and let me tell you I was nervous. I'm not nervous about meeting new people or that they will suck. LOL. I'm more nervous that people won't "get me". I tend to be very sarcastic and I forget that some people don't get that and might actually think I am being serious.

When Alyssa and I first spoke on the phone we hit it off and we even had a discussion about how sometimes you forget that people on the forum are from other parts of the country/world.

The good thing about meet-ups is that most of the girls/guys are from the same area so there are "cultural" similarities. Like Jason and I could discuss our hatred for the Red Socks and instantly click.

But I would be nervous to meet a southern girl b/c I feel like my loud NY personality would offend her. LOL. rofl.gif

This is part of my problem. Most people don't "get me" and probably more than half the people I meet think I'm a super bitch among other things. I can't help it! I just say random sarcastic things and don't think about it before I let them slide out of my mouth. And the stuff I say that isn't sarcastic is probably just plain weird. I also get the raised eyebrows when I talk.

And Carly, i'm sort of like you in a lot of ways too. I'm touchy feely with the people I'm close to. Everyone else, I'm basically like "pay attention to the invisible box surrounding me and do not touch me."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
