Try to forget about it. Think about all the other stuff you have to do to take your mind off of it.
That's probably a good idea to leave it at the salon even after it comes in. I don't know if I'll be able to do it though! My FI suggested that I leave it at my bridesmaid's place until we leave for the wedding, because he's afraid of a freak incident with our dog somehow getting into the guest room and of course deciding that wedding dress tastes really good. That is so something that would happen to me, so I know he's right about not keeping it here. I like the salon idea better though. I think I would worry about it less there. I guess I have a few months to psyche myself up for it. Plus, I've spent so much time wedding planning the past few weeks, I am really going to have to get caught up at work, so that should take my mind off it for a while. I noticed on one of the other threads that you're a lawyer too, so you know how it is - once you get behind, the phrase "uphill battle" doesn't even begin to describe it.

same here. my dress should be arriving early this week coming up and i will go try it on sometime next week after we move, but then the shop owner is going to keep my dress there at the shop while i go through all my fitting and alterations, and then i will pick it up 4 days before we leave for cabo.

i ordered my dress in january, and at first it was so hard to wait, but then i got busy at work and with other wedding stuff and forgot about it until last week haha because there was a reminder on my calendar for the 24th that my dress should come!

That really is a great idea, just leaving it at the shop until close to when you leave. My FI was joking that we should just stop at the store on the way to the airport! At least I think he was joking!

Now I'm just waiting for the point where I stop thinking about it all the time. It's starting to feel like an obsession lol! I know the work panic will kick in soon though, and that will take care of things.

LOL. You're funny. I guess I never thought of it. I ordered mine Dec 1st and it came in last Wed. I picked it up three days ago, on Saturday.

I wasn't anxious for it at all but I got really happy when they called to say it was in. When I put it on, I didnt want to take it off.

Now I've got to find a seamstress for alterations. NOT fun!

Just be patient!smile03.gif

I waited really long to order my dress. It's not due to arrive until May 25th and we leave June 16th! AHHHHH!

I heard a great packing tip...Turn your dress inside out so if anyone who inspects the dress (because you have to carry it with you!) won't get it dirty! This also keeps FI from sneaking a peek!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
