Crazy Customer Stories

Recommended Posts

Have any of you had really strange customer experiences that just left you speechless. I'm not sure how many of you work with the public on a daily basis, but I think there must be something in the pollen this spring that is bringing out the weirdness in people.

I just had a customer in my shop that I'm still scratching my head about. I do vintage jewelry restoration and repair and a customer just left after dropping off earrings that she wants converted. Conversions from clip earrings to pierced is something I do on a daily basis...that isn't strange at all. But this customer wants her 40's style clip earrings converted to...clip earrings. All I could do was look at her and say "Are you sure?" So unprofessional on my part. All I could do was stare at her ears, which are pierced, and verify with her that she wanted me to rip apart these earrings just to put a new version of the same thing back on. I still don't get it.huh02.gif

And don't get me started with the customer who wanted me to make a replica of a Victorian mourning hair jewelry necklace with her dead dogs hair!

Is it a full moon tonight?

I'd love to hear any good crazy customer stories that you guys may have.

I am a secretary at a Feed Mill and sometimes I have to wait on customers. So, this guy came in that spoke very little English. He said" I need some Cock Conditioner". And as I turned a million shades of red I said "excuse me?" He said "you know.... Cock Conditioner" Finally one of the boys came back in the office and said... "He wants Rooster feed" I was mortified.. I couldn't even wait on the customer HA HA HA I guess that was my bad though.

I've had lots of weird food requests over the years. One customer had to have each part of his entree brought out on separate plates because his food couldn't touch.

I had a transvestite "model" for me when I managed Victoria's Secret. That was a surprise! Don't quite know how he got the items and into the dressing room, but I asked if anyone needed anything and he threw open the door and asked if I liked.

I actually get allot of Drag Queens and Transvestites in my shop. They seem to like the biggest gaudiest rhinestone stuff I have. They always buy the pieces that I think no one in their right mind would wear. But that's jewelry so having them model is nothing like your experience.

The Drag Queens are pretty fun most of the time.

No, she said they were for herself...and they were fine the way they were. No major damage, fully functioning clipbacks. For 60+ year old earrings they are in great shape.

The only thing I can think of is that she watches too much Antiques Roadshow and thinks if they stay clips they will retain the collectable value...which isn't true.

I used to work in retail and every few months a man would call for the hosiery department. He would ask questions about different styles, how they felt, etc. He was very breathy and wanted details. I couldn't just say "the control tops are scratchy" he wanted to know how things felt on different parts of the leg, the smoothness, blah blah blah.

Where I work now a lady once kept her dead hamster on a plate on top of the kitchen counter. She wanted to wait for a frost to bury it, it was January in western New York!

When I was in high school and worked at an icecream/waterice store. I had a sweet looking old lady come up and order a small chocolate soft serve cup of ice cream. So after I made the cup of ice cream. I rang it up and told her it was $1, all of a sudden out of the blue. She looked straight at me and started yelling at me that I'm the devil. And that i'm trying to get her because i'm the devil. I'm trying to send her to hell. I just told her to get out of here. And while she was walking away she was screaming that i'm the devil.

Well she passed a customer who was on the way up to my work. the crazy chic had warned her that the ice cream wasn't free. I guess that's what set her off. Who knows, maybe i am the devil! What a crazy bitch.

I work in a hair salon.. I have some weird customers! I have one that LOVES to stick her hand up our skirts! Thank god we're cool enough to yell at her but last summer I had a mini skirt and had to stand in front of her.. she just dug her hand up my skirt.. I was like,"WHOAAAAAAAAAA LADY!!" and she just giggled

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
