I never even thought about that! Great point.

      Two reminders:
      1. We used our cell in the Dominican Republic and service was spotty and super expensive.

      2. A lot of countries do not use typical calling cards. In the Bahamas, they use a certain kind that you can only buy there. In France, they only use a certain kind. Make sure that you check this out, we did not think about this and bought calling cards at Sams and they did not work.
My favorite type of vacation, a relaxing one!

i am a total freak about that kind of stuff, backing things up in multiple places, because part of my job here at work is to back up our extensive databases and files daily. i consulted on the new backup server system when we decided to switch to suit my needs for backing up multiple times per day when i'm working on something really important. if i lost any of my data, id be screwed. so i am really overly anal about it. i have 3 flash cards we are taking with us for the trip, to rotate them.

        LOL, you are funny.

Good call on the flash cards. I am totally going to bring some too.

I was only planning on taking my cell phone, but now that Maura mentioned it I may also end up taking my laptop as well. I have all my email back and forth between me, Dreams and my WC on it so it would probably be easier than trying to print them all and then run this risk of forgetting one! With my cell, I have added an international calling plan for around $5.00/month. It's because my calls to Mexico are cheaper and sometimes I feel like I would rather just call dreams and get my questions answered rather than wait for an email response. Also I wanted to be able to have a phone in the days before the wedding since i figured I may be needing to make calls.

I'll def be taking my phone and may take my laptop. Mainly for emergencies, what if I need to burn a CD at the last minute or what if they don't have movies on the flight, lol.

We are bringing both ... just for the telephone numbers stored in them ... but what we decided to do was to get 2 prepaid phones last time we were in Jamaica. We gave the jamaican prepaid phone numbers to our family and friends and told them to call these cells when they want to reach us in Jamaica ... the prepaid phone did not cost much and the best thing is that people can call us even if we don't buy/have minutes for the phone. However, we can't call out if there are no more minutes. for the laptop, we just bring it in case we need documents or something for the wedding ... and to offload our digital camera pictures since we know we will take lots of pictures before and after the wedding ...

I am bringing my cellphone just in case and my Laptop as a source of everything I will need when I am there... and just in case something happens with my phone I will still be able to contact people.

I'll bring my blackberry for sure (unfortunately, probably don't have much of a choice about that, or certain people at the office would start hyperventilating - LOL). I would love to bring my laptop, just for the uploading pictures thing, but I'm thinking that by the time we lug my dress onto the plane and whatever other carry-on bag(s) we have with us, the laptop would just be too much.
