I'm thinking of Dreams too! May 2009. I was considering Dreams in Cancun but all the dates I wanted are booked already!

I've noticed there is not much here for Dreams PV, there is so many pages for the one in Cancun!

So what are the details? How many guests etc? I am wondering how many people will fit at the gazebo. I e-mailed the coordinator last week and am still waiting to hear back, hope my dates at THIS dreams is available!

Good luck on getting your date!! Let us know what happens.

I don't have too many details yet. However, I do have 32 people who have booked their tickets!! smile159.gif Most of the family and friends that have booked are on my side though! My FI isn't nearly as good at reminding his side! wink.gif I guess that's okay. We've only sent out STDs, but I figure we're really using the invitation to communicate details and settle any dinner selections.

Of the 32 booked, 25 are staying at Dreams. That's nice because it REALLY cuts down of the per person cost. Although, I'm trying to not push guests into staying just for our benefit.

And btw, I'm not dealing directly with the on-site coordinator. Are you planning on using one if you get the date? It's just the lazy factor for me. I have bad luck and would probably freak out too much if I had an unresponsive coordinator!

My wedding is between xmas and NYE because so many teachers in my family wouldn't be able to go otherwise. So weather wise, I am all good. But the expense of getting there and staying there, I am very worried about my guests. Especially those who don't know if they can make it yet.

Don't pick spring break. That may go as a big DUH but not only is travel more expensive, all prices get hiked up. We went to a few clubs and we found our drinks kept getting progressively more expensive too! We argued with Hilo for charging us $17.50 for red bull vodka! Um...say what? We didn't win the battle and paid for the drink. Then we promptly got in the taxi and went back to the AI resort to drink more. Each night we went out we spent over $100 in drinks at the club. I NEVER do that in the US.

the gazebo at dreams pv is pretty small, and not very private at all. the good thing about a destination wedding is that nothing is set in stone until you get there, so if you chose dreams, and you chose the gazebo and aren't happy, you can change like smile159.gif that. (well there was no snapping smiley)

  • 4 weeks later...

If I get to choose again, I will definitely pick late October. The weather is warm and not too hot. From my research even though October was high season, there were a lot good deals for hotels and airfare. On the other hand, June suppose to be low season, but I didn't see any deals for hotels or airfare so far after one year of search. Very likely it's family travel time. Definitely not summer, it's too hot, rainy.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
