About to book hotel and reception site!

Recommended Posts

Don't get too stressed. I have a really good travel agent that I can refer you to. She helped me book the rooms and they were really reasonable

Her name is Teresa and her email address is:tstauring@vacations4less.com

She is great!!

As far as the wedding, not quite sure where yet. We are having it on April 18th, but I have actually hired Kristin from Dazzling Details to help me coordinate and alleviate the stress. I dont think that we will have to go down there, bc she has been really good so far. I'm planning on having between 50 -75 people, but who knows with a destination wedding...

Oh...and to answer your other questions: We booked Rick Collins. Lauren used him and her photos were amazing. I'm really excited, bc she said that he was great to work with.

I emailed Dreams several times and didnt hear back from them. However, they had been responding w/i 5 days, but for some reason my email wouldnt accept their messages. (and didn't even give me a junk mail notification). Once I figured that out, they sent all the original emails to my hotmail account and that worked out well and they responded pretty quickly. I added Mexico to my landline plan, but I really only had to call Mexico once and it was pretty cheap to call.

Thanks, I have 2 e-mail acounts and tried to e-mail her form both, aol and yahoo, I never had a problem receiving e-mails before. Maybe I'll send her a quick one so she doesn't think I'm crazy that I keep sending her the same e-mail.

So I take it that they do allow outside photographers? Great!

How many guests? And most important of all....can you hire your own photographerhuh.gif Thats the part i'm really freaking out about. I don't know why I am drawn to Dreams, but I just am, it looks so beautiful!

Sorry for all the questions but I'm having a hard time finding new posts on here for Dreams PV.
I have booked Dreams for November 19th, 2008 and I might be able to answer a few of your questions. From what I have heard on other posts, the WC is also a waitress so it may take some time to hear back from her. Whenever I have emailed her, I usually hear back within a week. (Gaby)
Yes, you can hire your own photographer. The wedding coordinator will only recommend some local vendors if you are looking for a PV photographer. I don't believe they have a photographer onsite, so they have to bring from outside.

Does anyone know how many people the gazebo ceremony can hold? ... I saw a pic somewhere where the chairs were arranged outside the gazebo .... I'm just curious if 40 people will work...

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
