She's my cousin- we are so close too. I told her exactly what I thought but unfortunately she's one of those laugh you off, flaky kind of people. Half the time she goes out she doesn't wear "pants." Did you see my party pictures? haha That's why a dress at the calf is horrific to her.

And if I wore daisy dukes, oh dear lord. I would be sad for me. haha But the again, a wedding is so off her radar. I don't think she will get married til we are in our 40s and I would have a LONG time to wait for revenge. She told me the other day she would want a comedian as her officiant at her wedding and have him crack jokes the whole time. stupid.gif

I asked my sister (my MOH) to take care of it the day of the wedding. It's the last thing I want to think about, but unfortunately she is so laid back I doubt she will. She doesn't speak her mind as easily as I do. My FI told me to tell her to take a seat if she doesn't listen. Oh the drama!

Nordstroms. They were only $55 then. I think they have VERY similar styles now- many color options as well. I think they are cute and totally re-wearable. What bride doesn't say that though? haha

good call having your sister deal with her on the day of. she should lay down the law, and your FI is right, if she doesnt comply, she can SIT HER ASS DOWN with the rest o the guests!!!!!!!

My mom is going to Las Caletas early too. I'm sure she will help A) tame the beast in me and B) talk some sense into my lovely BM. I can't help but laugh though. We leave in 5 days and she forgets to get a dress altered and now wants to pin it. Honestly, I HAVE to be the only bride that has an issue like this. It's just so comical.

If it does happen, just let it slide... you need to enjoy yourself and take in all the good things beacuse it goes by too fast!

I found out the Saturday before my wedding that one of my BMs did not fit in her dress at all!

Long story short and not to hijack your thread, but I haven't shared this yet ... this BM was pregnant with her first child when we ordered her dress... and she lives in Mexico. The dress was ordered larger than we thought she needed, here in the US according to the designer's sizing. She would have had the baby by the time of our wedding.

She didn't tell me it didn't fit because she didn't want to worry me.

She did everything possible... looked for material to match, add material, find similar dress, with no success. (It is a hard colour to match when you see it in person).

I was mad that I didn't know. I could have ordered her another dress if I would have known, but she thought she could fix it. They couldn't take it apart because of the boning.

She cried, she broke out in hives, she didn't want to ruin pictures or even walk down the aisle... the important thing was that she was there with me.

With that said... at that point I didn't care that she wore a different dress, she walked down the aisle, she was in the pictures, it didn't matter in the end. I am glad she was with me.

Thanks Paula. I guess it's always nice to keep in perspective the importance of a wedding. To share the love you have for FI with everyone you love.

However, your BM sounds more considerate than mine. SHe's bitched about the dress from day one. This is the 2nd dress too. The first one she didn't like (I wasn't too fond of it either) so I bought a second one. Now this one is too long. It's like a never ending pain in my ass. Oh well- the day of the wedding I won't even think about it. BUT there will be no pins in the dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
