I agree that the Valley of Fire looks amazing. After seeing the beautiful pictures as a backdrop for a wedding I really dont want to have to settle for getting married in our hotel room or a chapel wedding. I have seen a lot of gorgeous chapels but I think it would be weird standing in front of empty seats. Is that weird? That's why I would prefer an outdoor wedding.

Has anyone had pictures done on the strip at night? I would love a sunset wedding at the valley of fire and then early evening pictures on the stip. I am worried about too many people around and the pictures being too dark though? Maybe early in the morning would be better??

I think you have a good plan and should stick to it. A good photographer will have a fast enough lens and maybe even a good flash to take your strip pictures. If you look at my wedding pictures you can see what I'm talking about. We had a session at the carnival parade at night and around a campfire. The trick is to have an honest conversation and get comfortable with your photographer.

Hi there. My husband and I were married last October at the Valley of Fire and I used this site for gathering info but I'm embarrassed to say I never got involved in the boards. I saw your post and decided it is time to give back :)

Anyhoo, we used what was called Classic Vegas Weddings at the time, I think they are "Scenic Vegas Weddings" now and had an awesome experience. Trey Tomasik took all our pics and I thought did a wonderful job. I have all our pics posted on my flickr site here - Pro Pics from Our Vegas Wedding - a set on Flickr

We had the ceremony at the VOF followed by pics on the strip at night and did not have any problems with people around or in the way. Trey did a great job of managing all of that. Also, it was a lot of fun walking around as people kept congratulating us.

We had an amazing experience and I would not change one thing about that day. I hope that helps. Good luck to you!

Red Rock Casino and Valley of Fire are totally different places.

There were about 6 threads on the VofF so I decided to merge them and stick the one thread.

I have some personal fondness for the VofF because I was engaged there so I want to make sure any brides have the best info possible.

Hi Christine,

I was actually asking about the Red Rock Canyon, not the casino. What I was trying to suggest was that the Red Rock Resort probably knows an officiant that treks into the canyon to do weddings, and even if the Red Rock Canyon is not in the Valley of Fire, that same officiant would probably be willing to go to the Valley of Fire as well.

Thanks for combining the threads. It helps.

Thank you very much Angie for posting your review and pictures. I have booked almost the exact same thing so it is sooooo nice to hear from someone that has already done it. It was nice to be able to see all of your pictures too so I can know what to expect:)

I booked with Scenic Las Vegas Weddings too but Trey was already booked. I booked with his wife Melissa Tomsik who I have not seen any reviews from yet but I am hoping she takes great pictures too....really hoping!

What time did you get married to have a sunset wedding? We booked ours for 5:30 on September 19th so I hope that is good. Your pictures were amazing and you made a beautiful bride. Thanks again!!!

I'm glad my post and pics were helpful (and thanks so much for the compliment blush2.gif). If I recall correctly we were married around 5:00 and the sun was not starting to set until after the ceremony which made for some great pics. All our friends and family commented that it was a beautiful ceremony.

I can't speak for Melissa's pics, but she was with us as we went from location to location on the strip and she was very nice and talkative, asking me questions and talking to me, while Trey didnt say much (although looking back I'm sure he was thinking about shots and stuff). My guess is she will do just as good of a job.

I hope you have an amazing experience and day, I know we did. If you have any other questions, just let me know! Good luck!

  • 2 months later...

Well it has been two weeks and I thought I should probably put something on here about our wedding for now. The day went well and Melissa Tomsik from Scenic Las Vegas Weddings was great to work with. She sent us a few of our pictures for now and they were exactly as we expected. It was a positive experience so far with Scenic Las Vegas Weddings and I will write a full review once I get the rest of our pictures in the mail:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
