woot.gif happy 4 month mark rebecca!

i ordered some cute custom totes for part of my BM gifts today, should be here in about a week. and i picked earrings for them too i think... just have to order them next week after i get paid! god, all my money is out the door everytime i get paid because i like to pay wedding stuff off immediately instead of putting it off.

i also ordered a dozen natural touch white callas and a dozen natural touch white roses to DIY a bouquet (or 2) for my civil ceremony in july - and got a decent price.

hahaha if only i were all over it every day, id have so much more done.

my best friend up and offered to take over the shower stuff my sister wasnt doing, so she made invitations for my shower yesterday and sent me photos and theyre gorgeous. my shower is june 7th and so shes shipping them to me today so that they arrive by the weekend so my stepmom can address the envelopes and send them out.

for my civil ceremony, we have a friend who was one of our grad school professors (FI and I met in grad school so we felt it was fitting to ask our prof to do it rather than go to city hall), and he is also an ordained minister. he is going to do the legal ceremony -- we are doing it on the rooftop deck of our luxury condo building (pending approval from the building manager) because it has an amazing view of chicago's skyline when youre facing east. thankfully that also works out with the lighting for a sunset ceremony! haha. my FI's parents are flying in from mexico for the weekend to be here for it, and my parents will be there. that's it very private. FI's good friend is catering the meal at our home. i ordered supplies (which im sure you read above) to make a couple invites as keepsakes for our parents. a friend of a friend who is a documentary style photographer is doing the photos for free.

for my dress, i ordered a tea length dress that actually came in monday and the bridal shop called to say i can pick it up whenever. i made an appointment to go get that and pick up my big dress for the DW on saturday as well. i will post pics when i can on sat! i ordered a veil for my civil ceremony but not sure if i will wear it yet, depends how it looks with my dress.

How did I miss this threadhuh.gif Wow, only 4 more months! I cant believe it. It feels like I have soooo much left to do! I need to get my butt in gear! Seeing what you ladies have already done will hopefully be my motivation. I'm going to try and dedicate my weekend to wedding stuff (we'll see how that goes, lol).

haha i was wondering where you'd been christina!

p.s. we got our first gift from the registry yesterday!!!!!!!! i was so excited when i saw the box. it ended up being an electric fondue pot, purchased by our good friend who lives in switzerland, and on the card he wrote "I thought this would be the most appropriate gift to give, seeing as fondue is considered a national treasure here in Geneva" haha now i gotta get him to send me some swiss chocolate cheesy.gif

Okay... um... Maura... you know how there are coincidences and then there are just wacky freaky things?

My shower is on June 7. And my city hall wedding dress came in on Monday. It's all very spooky.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
