AUGUST '08 brides!!

Recommended Posts

Was shopping with our friends who are in town visiting the other day and picked up this dress for one of my showers. Will probably wear this one for the one my aunt is throwing. It's really light and airy so I will take it to Cabo for the honeymoon too.

haha i am back in wedding mode trying to get shit done! thanks, i like the ring a lot considering it is a placeholder for the more expensive one i wanted but just cant justify right now with some of the other unexpected costs.

no word yet on the rooftop... i asked yesterday and he said "negotiations for the project are still in progress, check in with me again next friday" --wtf dude, i need to figure this out asap! if he doesnt have an answer for me by then, i will just put our main address without rooftop terrace on the invitation. in that case, i found a nice rose supplier to get a bulk order of roses to put in vases all around our living room in case we end up having to use it.

i'm doing the cake tasting for my civil ceremony cake this coming saturday at 2 pm. here's a photo of my inspiration cake -- but mine will be all white buttercream frosting instead of blue, and it will have a little less shells adorning the outside. the cake will be white with a keylime filling ribbon inside.

we also picked the inspiration photo for our cake in cabo -- still have to choose the flavor of cake and filling, but here's what we are hoping for it to look like:

Okay... so, in my lame efforts to keep up with Maura...

I'm currently (as we speak waiting for confirmation of the time for our welcome dinner) and then I'll finish printing invites.

The ring has been selected, but we haven't gone down to pick it up yet. It's akin to this:

Our cake is going to be something like this, with the gold ribbon but instead of red calla lillies it will have pale pink roses, and it will be tres leches:

Our centerpieces will be like this, only with bright pink rosepetals instead of orchids:

I received the pictures of my bouquet and I LOVE it!!!

Here is something like the dress I'm going to wear to my shower on the 7th:

For our OOT bags, with the move, I haven't ordered anything, but here's what we have: These are our OOT bags, only with navy straps, and our logo on the pocket:

These are our mugs for the OOT bags:

These are the hats for the OOT bags, only white instead of red, with our logo's palm tree and "Riviera Maya" across the front:

I go for my first dress fitting next week.

We're still waiting on final pricing for everything for the wedding, which we've been promised by tomorrow, and then we're about done except for fans, menus and placecards.

I feel so behind compared to you girls! We booked our wedding March 26 (how's that for a last minute decision?) and I thought that would give us plenty of time to get done what needed to be done before August 16. Then I found this board, which is wonderful but it has made me want to do more projects!!!

I do have my dress and have had my first fitting...fortunately it just needed a hem. I'm still on the hunt for shoes and jewelry.

The invitations/save the dates (we only have 12 people coming so we somewhat combined the idea) have gone out and now I'm working on the info packets to send everyone. They are completely finished design wise, I just need to print them and put them together.

As far as the resort end goes, we made all of our upgrades for that already. My biggest headache right now is our AHR.

Thank you girls for being so inspiring!!!

Bridget

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
