Oh my, only 119 days left for me! So, I'll go ahead and list a couple of things Ive done and have left to do:

Whats Done?:

Wedding website

Resort picked

Vacation booked and 1/2 paid for

Airfare paid for

STD's sent out

Bought bridesmaids gifts

FI's attire is bought

OOT bags bought and stuff for them (thanks to Shelley!)

Summer clothes for FI and I have been purchased

Reserved boarding for the boys (my doggies)

What do I have in progress?:

Still trying to decide on a photography package

Still waiting on resort to finalize menu options

Still looking for FI's wedding band

Invites are in the making

Welcome letter/booklet in the making

FI working on music selections

Still deciding on wedding setup (Its kind of hard planning at a brand spankin new resort and not being able to see pics of anything!)

What do I still need to start/do?:

Still deciding if I want to do menus

Attempt to make barefoot sandals

Find shoes for the reception

Find or create a guest book

Get sand ceremony kit

Register!

Find a reliable fish babysitter

Decide on ceremony programs

Find me some jewlery

Find cute thank you cards

Find a cake topper

Get enough guts and do a million situps to do a BD shoot before June!

and last but not least .... I havent bought a dress yet!!! blush2.gif I know, what in the world am I thinking. That is on my to-do list by the end of this month! I am not too big on dresses (thats the tomboy in me) Is this stressing me out ... actually its not, surprisingly. I am actually going to try on a few more on Saturday. I found one I like at Davids Bridal, lol, but dont ask me why I didnt buy it! If tomorrow's search doesnt go too good, I will defitenly be getting the one at DB.

Damn, looking at this list, I realize how much I still need to get done! Now only if I can just get off this freakin forum (too many great ideas!) Like I said earlier, I am using you August ladies as my motivation! grouphug.gif

yep we are, and we are doing it on 7-12-08. i dont think its too early. our friend is a minister and jose's parents are going to fly out to be here for it. i think i posted earlier in this thread our plans -- we're doing a rooftop sunset ceremony for our legal wedding and our friend will be the officiant and sign the license. we felt it was more personal than going to city hall. i am not knocking going to city hall to do it, but for me personally, it wasnt an option, i felt it was too impersonal for me to get legally married by someone we dont know and will never see again.

Maura you need to stop now. Really. You're making the rest of us look bad!

That being said, I've just confirmed our welcome cocktail hour and dinner arrangements, booked our DJ and have a trip down to finalize everything else in Mid-May. Woohoo!

OH! one more thing DONE yesterday.... we got our official sign off from the catholic church approving our marriage! all our paperwork got signed last night and will be on it's way to our officiant (family member who is a priest that lives in new orleans who we are flying to cabo to marry us -- we just booked his airfare last week and paid for the hotel for him, so its a done deal) today. he will present all the documents to the church in cabo for us, and will sign our catholic certificate of marriage. we went out to dinner to celebrate being done with all that stuff last night!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
