I am overwhelmed already

Take some time and read through the different areas of this forum to familiarize yourself with some of the resort and decide what's important to you. A travel agent can be very useful for getting a good room block price and negotiating with the resort. I highly recommend Tammy- the host of this forum. She handled all my travel and it was one of the best wedding decisions I made.
Meanwhile, don't stress. You have lots of time. Happy planning!

We're flying out of Vancouver and will have about 25 as well. A lot of your decision will be based on how much your guests are able to spend. Since the Mayan is on the other side of the country, flights are more pricy. We didn't want to go above $1500 plus taxes. Originally we were planning on Dreams (you'll see a LOT of girls on here getting married at Dreams resorts) but we couldn't make the price work so we changed to the Grand Palladium.
We've talked to a few travel agents and the best they could do for us is about $50 off the prices you see on expedia, etc. I guess it's better then nothing but we were expecting a group rate to be a better discount.
Congratulations on your wedding!!!
