i should tell you also that i was anti-sorority and thought it was "not my thing" but i lived with a friend from high school when i transferred and she had felt the same way but rushed anyway, and told me i should rush and if i hate it drop out, no love lost. it ended up being my thing, because i found a great group of girls who were just like me and still keep in touch with many of them. actually just about a week ago, my sister was applying for a job at a PR agency i knew a sorority sister worked at so i gave her a call to see if she would give my sister some advice. its created a really great network for all of us i think, many of us do very different things now, but we're all willing to help each other whenever possible.

I was in Alpha Phi. Sororities were so my thing. LOL. I loved everything about it. I loved doing Rush once I was a sister, I loved the cheesy songs, the parties, everything. I can't imagine my college experience without it. Its not for everyone but I absolutely loved it.

If this is directed at me, I already had/have a great groups of friends that I grew up with. And we all still help one another when we need it and keep in very close contact with one another.

I dated a Sigma Chi and also a Lambda Chi, so I was always around fraternities and the sororities that were linked to those 2 frats. Still not my cup of tea...but I would definitely never say anything bad about them.

no it wasnt directed at you -- i didnt have a strong core group of girlfriends from high school or that i grew up with because we moved when my parents got divorced. it was always hard for me in high school to make lasting friendships with very many girls because my high school was really clique-y. i have a couple friends from high school i keep in touch with, but i wouldnt say that i could depend on any of them (well maybe just one) if i really needed something. i always thought sororities were stupid and nothing id ever belong to. but i was pleasantly surprised that there was actually a sorority full of girls just like me.

and like glenda, i got really into loving everything about it. rush was one of my favorite times of year. i never thought i would be a part of a sorority, ever. i always talked shit about sorority girls and how they were so fake (and dont get me wrong, some definitely are). but what i didnt know was that not all sororities are like the ones you see on tv. i had a number of friends in college who were "independents" (as they called themselves because they didnt go greek, and my campus was heavily greek). but the friends i made in my sorority are the ones who have ended up being my closest, lifelong friends. thats all i meant by that.

That is so funny! I loved all the songs too!

Okay, this is sort of lame, but I sort of want a candle passing done at my wedding. One of my good friends had one at her wedding over ten years ago and it was so special.

I should talk to my MOH about it...she was also in my pledge class.

i dunno about you gals, but my sorority friends and i still sing rush songs ocassionally haha... like one year for rush, our 2nd round song was "take me home tonight" and we changed the words to "go tri delt tonight" etc etc

my FI just rolls his eyes at me when we go out with my sorority sisters, we're in a bar, and all of a sudden one of the songs comes on and we can't contain ourselves from singing the made up sorority lyrics haha

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
