Honestly, I never pay attention to ettiquette. I could be the rudest person (unknowingly, of course) but I just think some of the "rules" are silly and outdated. It's a DW- you can break any rule you want because I don't think there are rules.

However, I'm not sure I would have the patience to deliver 60. It would get OLD quick. Maybe have a invitation pre-party. They do it on MTV's Sweet Sixteen party show all the time. haha

I would hand deliver.. especially if you LOVE your invites. That completely sucks! I don't think the US has postal regulations like that.. I know there's an additional charge for square envelopes but boxes are hand cancelled and not ran through a machine.. my postage was just based on weight. I never thought about the height! So sorry that happened to you...

I would do an invitation pre-party but then I would have to design invites for the pre party wink.gif Plus, we just bought our first place cheesy.gif and since it's a townhouse, it's a little too small to fit everyone (not to mention a mess with boxes right now!).

I guess it's just so frustration because I looked into the mailing regulations before hand and thought I was fine. I mean, the box should have made the cut off. Maybe I'll just drive across the border and mail them from Seattle...lol

Chiquita, we're getting married at the Grand Palladium in the Mayan Riviera! Originally we were going to go with Dreams but the GP was more reasonably priced and we have a lot of guests who are really working hard to even be able to afford the GP.

These are the boxes I'm using:

Pool A7 Box Mailer - Paper Source

I scoured the internet to find boxes that will fit something 5 by 7 and be 3/4 inch high at most and this was it. If anyone made 5 by 7 boxes that were 1/2 high, then I would be all over them. Most places the only boxes they sold were at least 1 1/2 inches.

Check here:

Paper Mart Packaging Store - Vari-Depth Literature Folder Mailing Boxes

You might also peruse some other pages on the site...papermart has a large selection. The ones above are interesting, since they actually let you determine the depth yourself, then tape closed. Not the prettiest boxes, but maybe worth a try if you're set on mailing rather than hand-delivery. =)

Do you have any friends/family in the States?

It might be cheaper (and easier) to mail all of your invites to someone in the States and have them send them out USPS. Just a thought?

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
