Whoops! Totally missed this thread when I started my own a second ago!
Have you been working with Don? He's been so prompt with his email replies that he's making me want to go with them. Any reason why you chose Negril Escape over the other resorts you were looking at? And what other resorts were you looking at? Just curious

I too considered Negril Escape before sticking with my original choice, Tensing Pen.
I called and left a message and it took about a week for a response. By then I was firmly moving ahead with Tensing Pen. I liked that it could accomodate a large group, they have a large outdoor area for receptions and ceremony, and a beautiful castle or lighthouse or something. All of this can be seen on their website or try visiting :Negril Jamaica - Negril Onestop Jamaica Resorts
and choose cliff resorts to see more.
This site also list the wedding package options and prices, very helpful if comparing.
I stuck with Tensing because I thought the rooms looked a little 2 starish. I didn't want my guests to travel so far to stay in a two star resort. I liked that it was artistic and different, but still did not feel that it was nice enough to hold the wedding. You may, of course, feel differently.

I am having my wedding at Negril Escape in April 2009, with 40-50 guests. I loved the fact that it was on the cliffs, away from the family resorts and the AIs. I wanted a more independent feel. I was a little concerned about the room quality at first, but I doubt my guests will be spending much time in their rooms anyways - they will be partying with me and enjoying Negril. The rooms will just be a place to stash their stuff and lay their heads after a night of drinking....and maybe a little fun.
I also wanted a place where I wasn't required to fill a certain percent of rooms. Plus, this seems to be cheaper for the guests, who are already spending a lot of money to make the trip. Since many people are staying beyond the wedding, they are more than free to upgrade to a different hotel/resort of their choice after all the wedding activities.
The pictures on their website are great, and the reviews on TripAdvisor have been mostly positive. Don has been very helpful and responsive with my emails and phone calls, and I am so excited for next April!
