As of now we are expecting about 35 + guests..... we can not book yet, as it is too early for 2008 bookings. This is all new to me, and I would just like to know where to get started!
The reason it is too early, is the budget. Most places won't set there projections for their business until 12-16 months prior to the new year. It also depends when their fiscal year begins. Based on these projects, they set the price. I would call back in a couple of months or ask when they will be booking for next year.

My travel agent said that I had to had a number before i booked through the tour company, and I just think its hard to get an exact numer now, plus they told me that its too early for 2008 booking, because 2007 prices are still in effect, I have to wait until early spring. so in the meantime do I go around trying to get exact numbers, or should I just send out invites!? so many questions!

Just an FYI we sent out our invites early (real early) and to be honest it didn't help. How about you just sit down with your FI and maybe parents and "try" to get a rough number on who might go, then give that to your TA so that they have something. OR TT Tammy (host) she might be able to help you in figuring out some of your information.

I can book in early spring, I have looked at a few photographers....but we are still undecided about 2 resorts..... we have been to the Grand Palladium Kantenah and the Barcelo Maya Colonial , and loved them both. Both resorts have great wedding packages, but if we go with the Barcelo (which Ryan is leaning towards) we have to use their official wedding photographer. I checked out his pictures, they are nice. If we choose the other resort we can book our own photographer, and I have conacted Claudia Rodriguez, and she does beautiful photography.

if you know which resort you can book the date now. best to book early to get the date you want.
We are getting married in the mayan riviera, there are 2 resorts we are looking at.... we are expecting about 35+ people as of now, the number may go up, as family overseas may be coming now too. I had picked a date, but apparently you have to be in Mexico for 4 working days before you can get married... so it will be bumped up a few days.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
