Reherasal dinners

OK, I know this is a fine time to ask this question being as though my RD is in exactly three weeks but, what exactly are you supposed to do at a Rehearsal dinner? My rehearsal dinner is at the resort that Im getting married at and we are having a buffet dinner. We have a Playlist set up so we can just run the ipod all night. What else do you do at a RD besides EAT?

 

I thought about a slide show but I'm actually reserving that until Sat. during the reception as people are walking in. The fire dancers I'm using during my welcome party the night before (Thurs)

 

so, I'm fresh out of ideas...we aren't giving any gifts because we purchased the attire for our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We are only giving gifts to our parents.

 

So, what do exactly do I do at the rehearsal dinner?

we are going to say a few words to our friends and family. I think my father in law is going to say a few words and then have a good time. that's about it. We're going to have a slideshow and a few gifts but i don't think anything else is required. Maybe advise on any other last minute details on the wedding day.

I think the rehearsal dinner is more for close family and friends in the wedding party to give speeches or say something nice about you. Toasts on the wedding day are pretty much limited to the father of the bride, maid of honor and bestman. If anyone else would like to speak or give a toast, its normally at the rehearsal dinner.

I plan on having me & FI thank everyone say a few words...pass out bridal party & parents gifts. Then just eat, drink and relax...that's all ive done at past rehersal dinners.

We are going to just thank everyone for coming and say a few sweet things - trying to include mostly everyone of course - I don't think much is expected of you at the rehearsal dinner - mainly just thanking everyone who made the trip and everything.

i would just give everyone words of wisdom and thank them for making the trip... run through the "walking down the aisle" with everyone to ensure that your day will be wonderful and effortless

I like the slide show idea. Does the Westin Resort and Spa, Los Cabos have a lcd projector and screen they provide? If so doing a slide show is a nice way fill time and connent everyone. It alsway makes som people cry! I am getting married at Dreams Los Cabos, can you do a slide show there? Good Luck!
