What about a cute and simple bun with a weave ponytail or something

That's what I think I'll do. I'm just wondering if I should have it done in Jamaica or at home. I'm thinking it may be hard to keep the look fresh for two days if I get it done at home.

Yeah I would think so... if you don't wanna do it yourself, get it done in Jamaica...it would be very hard to mess that up...

Hey ladies! I see the thread is growing! Been MIA a bit lately, but trying to be around the board more..if for no other reason than daily stress relief.

OMC- I think that an up-do or bun would be stress free. Especially if you wrap it up tight at night. The beautiful thing about Jamaica is that there is no shortage of stylist who can work with your hair, no matter what you have going on or want to do.

thanks ladies..... i know its late but i think i may do the weave b/c i live in south louisiana where the humidity is very comparable to jamaica and curls do not last here.... i may do a curly weave though... not sure... definitely not a quick weave...

I can't help you on weaves...I have only had a few in my lifetime... I can say that my curls stayed, but it took a heluva lotta hair spray to look half way decent.

I most likely will do a weave just because I am lazy and do not want to deal with my hair.
I had a short weave done in January to give it a try for the first time. My hair is just above the middle of my back and I got a short bob weave.
It lasted not even a month. It was a new experience. It itched a lot!!!
Also, I do not think my braids were small enough. I have really thick hair. After I had the weave washed for the first time (attached to head) my hair started to smell sour. I was under the dryer for 1 1.2 hours. That darm thick hair....
I am/was considering doing a front lace weave because the hair style I have chosen has the hair pulled away from the face. But!!! not many people here have done them and if they can do they are charging my first born.
I am considering getting another weave this Sat with a bang, on the longer side and a bit wavy. Just to give it another shot.
I get pretty anal about my hair and for my wedding/honeymoon this is just one item I do not want to worry about.
I am leaning towards a weave for 2 reasons: 1) I like my hair a certain way 2) all the sun, heat for the wedding is a lot and I can not promise myself that I do not jump in the pool before the wedding. :-)

Girl you betta go with a nice neat bun slicked back and call it a day... With how hot it is, there isn't a whole lot you can do that will last. At least it's that way in Jamaica.

I had a sewn in weave. I went to New York and purchased my hair from Erena Hair Care Center. Here's their website Erena Hair Centers:: Our Factory ::. It was matched to my hair texture (relaxed) and color. The weave I purchased when wet would curl, but also could be straighten with a curling iron, roller set, etc. I decided to on weave, because of the humidity. I just didn't want to fuss with my hair on top of everything else. I posted my wedding picture slide show on here. You can see the weave on there.

I have been doing some research this week and I am considering a Lace front wig. I really want to wear my hair down and away from my face.
I knew how I wanted my hair before I even bought a dress.
It is an investment, but for the natural hairline and the easiness of a weave, it is looking better an better.
