Ladies,

If you can do a hair trial before, if you are getting your hair done at the spa so you can work out the kinks. I didn't and ended up not liking my hair (what I ended up with I could have done myself). I had to have the lady fix because it was lop sided at first. It also fell out (upper back part) early in the evening, probably because she had to pull and reinsert bobby pins to get it to sit right. I am not a fussy person and thought I could do without the trial (had photos of my hair in the updo I wanted), yet this is my one regret.

Uh Oh, this scares me! My plan is to have a hair trial done here and take pictures - I figured that might help with any language barrier and ensure she knows exactly what I want...but that doesn't seem like a solid plan now! Maybe I will try to make time for a hair trial at the spa before hand. Just not that keen on spending more $$!

I had a trial done here in Canada for a party at my husbands work a few weeks before the wedding that I took photo's of from all angles and brought with me. The lady that did my hair that day for the party did a marvelous job. I took those photos with me hoping like yourself to assist with the language barrier and to show exactly how I wanted my hair done.

My MOH's hair done at the spa turned out perfect for the wedding (showed photos from Project Wedding) and it stayed in for day's (we did a test on hers because mine fell out so quickly). I just want future brides that strive to have the perfect look for their day to get what they want. I think a trial will help the stylists practice on your hair so that when it's the day of all the kinks have been worked out. Maybe my hair is difficult (was long, wavy and is thick), who knows, the trial run was just one thing I wish I had spent the extra on.

Thanks for the heads up Shellb...I did book a trial appointment as well for the "just in case". My MOH was married at the Majestic in 2007 and I remember that she ended up doing her own hair AFTER her salon appointment. I figure I'll get a good idea with the trial whether or not to have it done the day of the wedding or not. I know that there is another salon over in the Palma Real mall beside the resort as well...depending on their prices, I may have to check that out too?....

I didn't have that problem at all. I brought a photo of the style I wanted (on a model not me) and she replicated it perfectly. It held through a dip in the pool (I didn't go under obviously) and through dinner and drinks that evening too. I'm sure it all depends on the stylist, but mine, Desi, didn't speak hardly a word of English and we didn't have any trouble. My appointment was about 3 hours before the wedding and it took about an hour and 15 minutes to get it done - I have A LOT of hair. ;-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
