My title is gone. Do you know what happened? Did the member of the month thing replace my title? It said "Photoshop Addict."

Because at first we lived in sin
We've got the sheets and a rubbish bin
A gift from you would be swell
But we'd prefer a donation to our Wishing Well!!

"We really would appreciate a little money of our own,
instead of a little gift for our new home!"
We know you want to find something nice
But it's such a hassle to find the right price
So come and enjoy the day all sunny
We really would appreciate a little money.

Tacky in the highest degree! I can't imagine having the guts to print this on your invite. I can't imagine getting an invite with it printed on it. It would be time to make more recycled doves.

That is so funny! Was that on one of those websites? I only read the first one. I read this poem to mike & then told him all about the doves. He just thought I was weird.

Yes, there are a ton of different poems on there, and I only checked one website. Obviously most people prefer to get dollars rather than gifts if there is this much space devoted on how to ask for it. I have made a decision that I will forevermore only give cash to couples who are getting married. This is my solemn vow. Everyone, repeat after me.........

Yep, that's what I do. But I always give a check, not cash incase it gets lost or stolen. Then I get to write something silly on the "For" line.

I always like when my thank you note says what they will do with it. The last wedding I went to I gave her a check. She said they will use it towards a dinning room table. I also made her a photobook & some other photo projects so it was still personal. But, that was a good friend. For other weddings, I just give a check. Sometimes I make a custom shutterfly card.

If there was a store you really liked, couldn't you just get gift cards for those places? There are even Visa gift cards, so you can spend it on whatever you want.

That way you can wait until you move to spend them and use them for items for your new place (they don't have expiry dates on gift cards here, I'm not sure if they do where you're from).

I do like the security of giving a cheque though, I never considered that people would actually steal from a wedding (although it now makes sense why I didn't get a thank you card from a gift given at a wedding a few years ago...)

And I tried making the dove, I can't get its wings to flap, but I sure do know what to do with all my old magazines now!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
