October wedding or not???

Recommended Posts

I was having the EXACT same dilemma this weekend! I decided it was NOT worth flying all the way to Mexico for even the slight chance that I would end up having a weekend inside when I could have done the same thing at home. You take your pictures with you forever, remember that and that is a HUGE consideration. :(

I wanted mine then too but there is no way I was willing to do it, so I say go with your gut on this one but I personally wasn't willing to risk it.

I SO wanted our wedding to be on 10/10/10 but decided against it because I am not willing to risk having my wedding day ruined by a hurricane. It's one thing if it rains, I'd chalk that up to good luck for us. But not a hurricane... so, I went with end of November.

I am having mine on 10/9/10 at the El Dorado Royale and am really not to worried about the weather.  I am a pretty go with the flow kind of person and if some crazy weather happens that causes the day to change from what I have planned, then so be it, I'm sure it will make one heck of a story :)  What's more important to me is that we have 50 of our closest family and friends joining us for the weekend at the resort and being able to share that time with them is what I am most looking forward to.  People get side-tracked as to the importance of the wedding, its not about what you look like or what type of food you eat, its about being surrounded by the people you love (in an amazing tropical paradise) and committing yourself to spending the rest of your life with your best friend!  My advice with planning:  Go with your heart...you'll kick yourself if you don't!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
