Well I think you need to way your pros and Cons. If it's hurricane season, do you really want to chance your wedding day being ruined? Or is it a risk your willing to take? If you choose to do it on that date, then I would arrange with your WC an alternate plan in case their is a hurricane.

For some reason I thought I replied to this but it must have not gone through.

I agree with tammM though. The actual chance of a hurrican hitting is not highly likely if you look at the statistics BUT it is huricane season and there is still that chance. If it was just a vacation than I would say take the chance. But its your wedding, and so much time and effort is put into that special day, not to mention the memories and pictures you will have forever. If a huricane did hit than it would possibly ruin one of the most important days of your life.

I am getting married on October 12 in Cabo and made plans for a back up if it rains. I was worried about this too, but my WC told me not to worry that last October there was only like one day of rain and that the news always make it seem worse than it really is. Do you have a WC to inquire about the date?

We are getting married on Isla Mujeres on Oct. 5th.- the biggest suggestion I have is "trip insurance" - I understand and bet I could about quote many of those conversations word for word.

I am sure we will have beautiful weather and let me know if you want to team up with some planning since we are pretty close in dates.

Congrats and remember it is your day....

it is totally doable but then be sure to get trip insurance and push your guests to get it as well. it will let you sleep better at night.

It all boils down to what would make your day special. If you don't mind about unrelibity and it doesn't bother you to make changes at the last minute, than go for it. However, even if you can change things around due to weather, you also need to think about what kinds of things you want to do on your honeymoon or things for your guests to do. If it is bad weather the whole time, everyone will not be albe to enjoy the atmosphere and culture. I personally would not want to risk it.

Make sure your trip insurance covers both land and air. Many insurances only cover one portion and don't specify before hand. But if they are both covered, that is a good option to be safe.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
