A couple of friends of mine honeymooned at El Dorado Royale and LOVED it! They spoke wonders of the private/outdoor shower! :)
Anyway...my fiance and I are considering going to Cuba since we will only be about a 30 min plane ride away. I hear the beaches there are beautiful and I would love to see Havana.
I am geographically retarded and didn't realize Cuba was so close!! I would LOVE to see Havana -I am going to have to have a discussion with the FI immediately! :)

I am getting married at Dreams Tulum so we will be staying there for 3 nights and then we will going to the Iberostar Grand that just opened in March 2007. If you read the reviews on TripAdvisor and look at the pictures it looks too good to be true, and its an all adult resort!!

Hi-

I recently vacationed at Secrets Capri with my fiance. It was a fabulous vacation (especially for the price). It was a very quiet resort, with everything from the service to the food being top notch. Secrets Capri was highly recommended to us by two sets of friends who had previously vacationed there, and we were definitey not disapointed. The pool is lovely and the service for food and drink was excellent poolside as well as at the swim up bar. We found the clientale to be very classy and made many friends while on our trip. As it is adults only, it is mostly couples who are there for a relaxing trip. There are a variety of restaurants to choose from at dinner (Japanese, Italian, Seafood) and at lunch you can eat poolside or a semi casual restarant (loved it!). Also in the morning the breakfast buffet is amazing. I never thought I could love a buffet, but this is a definite exception. One night the resort set up a Mexican night around the pool (which was a huge production) and the food was excellent. One night they had live music on the beach which was great. This resort is geared toward relaxation and not night life, however there are a few things to do at night, but all and all it becomes pretty quiet at night. The beach was nice as well. I would check out TripAdvisor reviews if you have not already as they were so helpful to us. As you will read, you will need to get up early to claim a chair by the pool or beach, but I think this may be the case at many places. I would recommend Secrets Capri as a great honeymoon destination. We will definitely be back. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any specific questions. I hope your honeymoon is the best ever!

Katy

Hi Kimmy I am coming from the UK to get married in Riviera Maya. Since we are going for the white sands and blue seas for the wedding we fancies something completely different for our honeymoon. We are honeymooning in New York City at christmas! I think it will be really romantic :)

We are honeymooning at the Excellence. It's close to the Moon Palace, so we'll just take a cab down there the day after our wedding. It's adults only, which was important, and it looks really nice and luxurious, which is something we wanted. I'm super excited!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
