how much ribbon per fan

I just started my fans - I bought them from OTC and seriously they are all way different sizes - I am making 24 and I bought 2 10yd rolls of ribbon - I've made 16 and now I need more ribbon!! Hope that helps - about 1yd/fan give or take - and if you have a Hobby Lobby the ribbon is 1/2 off right now! WOO HOO!

Have you tried looking online for ribbon in spools? That is totally the way to go! I bought one 60 yard spool for about a dollar a yard so now everything is getting f*ing ribbon!

In Orange County there is a store called Shinoda Designs...they have rows and rows of ribbon.

 

The only problem is you need to have a card, like costco.

My fans are similar to Leia's and for those, I used 5/8" ribbon and wrapped them really tightly and had the ribbon overlap a bit. For each fan, I measured about 36 inches. I bought some of my ribbon at Michael's but it was pretty pricey, even though the ribbon was on sale. It was about $2 per spool. I ended buying more ribbon here: BBCrafts - Premier quality Ribbon, Pouch, Tulle, Satin Cord and Wedding Related Products Supplier

It was much, much cheaper - I got a HUGE spool of 5/8" satin ribbon for about $9 and it shipped quick.

hey Tara, have you heard of a store called Fantastico? It's on 6th St in San Francisco, right by the flower mart. They have a ton of party supplies and ribbons. I bought 58yds for $3.
