Welcome to the forum Pazzesca! I know exactly where Imperia is. I agree that everything happens for a reason - and having just had my DW - it is definitely the way to go! I am not sorry at all that I did it.

Wow - just found this thread - we're in Jersey City - moved there last year from Staten Island. We decided to do a DW because well, we actually talked about DWs on our second date(!!!) and he has too many family and friends! My side is pretty small, but we couldn't get away with a local wedding of fewer than 200-250 and I always wanted a small wedding.

We're staying home this weekend. Everyone we know will be away so it should be some good alone time :)

hello mare and welcome!!

i work in downtown jersey city! my fiance has a lot of family and i just have my siblings so it works out good for us. not to mention having an at home wedding was just getting to be too big of an expense for us to handle so we canceled ours.

there is going to be an NJ DW bride meet up next month. there is a thread about it in the meet up section. i can't make it but you might want to go.

Hi! I'm in Bayonne and work in Jersey City. We decided on a DW because our guest list for a wedding at home was topping 300 people, and I wanted something small. We chose to do a cruise wedding so we could still have people there who couldn't afford to travel, but we also had a non-sailing guest limit that wasn't set by us so people understanding about why they weren't invited. We're getting married on the ship before it sails and will then cruise to 3 islands with 21 of our family and friends.

I saw the meet up, but I don't drive and I'll be doing a walk for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America in NYC that day (my dad has had ulcerative colitis for 27 years).

Hey Ladies!

I am from North Bergen, NJ... we decided to go with a DW since it is super expensive in NJ as I have friends getting married this year ($$$). so we are all set up for the Paradisus Palma Real for May 22, 2011!

I look forward to talking to you all more!

Where did you girls get your dresses from? I have an appointment with The Bridal Manor in South Jersey this weekend and Klienfeld in July... any other suggestions?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
