Where did you girls get your dresses from? I have an appointment with The Bridal Manor in South Jersey this weekend and Klienfeld in July... any other suggestions?!

Hi Theresa,

I highly recommend RK Bridal in NYC. You can check out their website at: RKBridal.com They carry all designer dresses for over 60-75% off retail price. Kleinfeld is a total rip off. You're just paying for status. The Inventory at Kleinfeld is pretty much available at RK Bridal. One of my girlfriends bought her wedding dress at a bridal boutique for $5,000. We went to RK Bridal for another friend's wedding dress and she saw her same dress for $3,000 less. Check it out!!

Hey Theresa!

I'm getting married at the PPR this July. One of my closest friends got her dress at the Bridal Manor and it was stunning!!! She did spend a lot of money since it was a Monique Lhuillier. Another friend of mine went there are she didn't like that you couldn't browse the dresses yourself. I never went since it's over an hour from my house. I ended up getting my dress at Castle Couture in Englishtown. I love that it's down the road from my house. Good luck!!

  • 1 month later...

just bumping this thread to see how all the jersey girls are doing!

also i'm excited to go and look at dresses finally!! i'm going to Dolores Bridal in Edison this saturday and then on Monday, July 19th i'm going to NJ Bridal Outlet in Garfield, then David's Bridal in Paramus. After David's Bridal I'm going down to Asbury Park to take engagement photos (finally)!

How are everyone else's plans going? How are NJ girls who recently tied the knot enjoying (or not) being a mrs?

Hey girls havent been on here in forever. I get emails with updates so i do lurk but never get a chance to comment. Let me know how you girls make out on your dress hunts. My younger sister is getting married, not decided on a date but i figured i'd make a list of different dress places she can check out. I only went to 2 places and got my dress at the 1st place so i got lucky that i found "the one" so fast.

Also where are you girls getting bm dresses from?

OMG Theresa not only are you getting married at the PPR like me but Bridal Manor is where i got my dress from. Did you find anything there? Not sure if any of you girls get the entertainment books with coupons but if you do check it for coupons for dresses. Believe it or not in the 2008 South Jersey one it did have a coupon for bridal manor for when i got my dress and bm dresses, think it was $25 off, i know its not a ton if your buying an expensive dress but its something and since i ended up buying my gown and the bm dresses it saved me $75. I have a 2010 S Jersey entertainment book at home, if anyone wants me to check for the coupon let me know and i can mail it out to you.

How did you like the Bridal Outlet in Garfield? I've heard about it but never checked it out.

Tracy goodluck for your wedding on Friday. I hope you loved the PPR as much as I did. I want to go back soooo bad. But now that we have a 4 month old our next vacay will probably be disney world (i've never been *Gasp*) and probably not for awhile. My sister is considering Florida as a wedding location so maybe that will be our next vacay. But who knows right now she's not really making any decisions.

Tracy - CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WEDDING DAY!!

Pazzesca - good luck on your dress shopping and have fun with your Engagement pictures! Asbury will be a great place to take pictures!

Nicole - welcome!

Danielle - I've never been to Disney either - I worked at Great Adventure for 6 years so I'm all Amusement Parked out - I hope I never go to another one again lol!

Hey Danielle!

I went to the bridal manor (like a 2 hour drive from the house) and had specifically asked if they would have 1. larger sizes and 2. the ella collection... I got there, and they had like 2 ella dresses and only 1 around my size... So after trying on a few others (not many options in my size), we ended up leaving empty handed... BUT, this weekend I went to Klienfeld in NYC and got MY dress! Woo hoo! super excited and now I am just a walking ball of sunshine! hahaha!!

To everyone in the area:

I highly recommend Klienfeld's even if you are just going for the experience! It was everything I expected to be and more!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
