So, what's bugging you today?

But wouldn't he warn her about that since he told her that he posted the ad? I would ask him about it and tell him it hurt your feelings. I think that's all you can really do. I would wait a bit to calm down before going home though.

Ah mauraw don't be upset he's just trying to be "one of the hard done by husbands" but it gives you great mileage to make him pay so that he really will need to sell his balls lol

Honestly let it go over your head if he's that intent on selling them he doesn't want them - cause i'm sure I wouldn't sell anything of mine if i loved it that much.

Yeah I know Dougsgirl she's off her head but i will have the last laugh i'll live longer lmao i've had to change my wedding destination because my dad lives in bali and she decided (before we said we were going to get married!!) that if we did she would go there for a month!!!! my dad would end up in jail for murder lol i'm quite tolerant (hard to believe i know) but he is so not he would just tell her to bog off lol funny thing is when he first met her about a month after her hubby died (pure accident he met her lol) he said she wont be without a bloke long she's too needy lmao sure enough 2 weeks later!! pmsl

Yeah, ideally he would have a least given her a head's up about that. But then again, if he seriously meant all that I can't see him (or most guys) actually telling her about the add, knowing she'd probably look it up and see that and get her feelings hurt. You know? Most dudes don't want that kind of confrontation. Maybe he (misguidedly for SURE!) thought she'd think it was funny? Sometimes I can take a stereotypical bad marriage joke...and sometimes I can't and I get pissed. Is there any chance he thought it would be taken as a joke since it's SO over the top?

I'm not trying to discount your feelings at all Maura...just saying what my experience with something similar to this was....and hoping it turns out to be just as innocent (if dumb) for you too. hug2.gif

Good point. Sometimes I lose my sense of humor and coincidentally it's during PMS time. :) Poor FI never knows how I'll react.

Joke or not though, your feelings were hurt. I'd simply ask his intentions. If he meant it as a joke and it just went wrong, it's not as bad as him taking jabs at you- which would be really STUPID, IMO. Respect is huge for me as I'm sure it is for all of you. Try not to take it to heart yet Maura. Guys are just really dumb sometimes and don't think about how things may come across.

His thinking is that it gives the buyer a reason that a guy would be selling a perfectly good "whatever" and makes it more relatable etc. usually it's something like, "My wife says she's tired of xx item taking up space in the house...either it goes or I go." It's total BS...and honestly, the ONE thing I'm always nagging at him to get rid of is the the ONE thing he hasn't sold yet! loL!! Ah, the irony.

I know there are a lot more reasons that you're upset about this...but hopefully my little story helps a little with the ad-wording that's bothering you. I think it's just a bunch of bs that he wrote to garner sympathy and maybe drive up the selling price a bit. ;-)
Well Rachelle, it turns our your DH and mine should be best friends. smile124.gif

I talked to him about it when I got home and he did exactly what your DH did, hoping it would garner sympathy and more money. shitfan.gif don't i feel stupid now... blush2.gif he even told me i shouldnt believe everything i read on the internet, because i am the one always telling other people that! haha

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
