ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Wow, many of us are on our final countdown!!! I just had a minor panic attack....i'm not sure what is going on for music at my ceremony. I have the luxury package, so a musician is included....do they play the whole time? or do i still have to have an i-pod with music on it? What about during the ceremony...there's not a spot for a special song or anything if I have the civil (legal) ceremony, is there? I'd hate to be in the middle of the wedding and have them stop for a song and me not have planned one! :)

Wow, bridetobe!!! I can't believe that happened to you! Thats terrible right before your wedding.

There are a lot of us that are soooo close! I just had a major DIY day yesterday, yes I am a procrastinator, and can't wait to post my planning thread!

I am having a lot of trouble trying to get ahold of the WC's down there as well. Must be super busy!

Well, I ordered a personalized cake knife and server from theknot.com and they definitely got the personalization wrong. My last name is Dupre, but they definitely put Kristen and Dupree June 18, 2010. At first I was like WTF? Then, I just laughed. I thought about keeping it as a gag joke, but then realized I actually wanted a server set personalized to keep in a china cabinet. You know one day show your kids or something. I guess that's wierd, but anyways I DEFINITELY sent it back. So ladies, watch out when ordering things personalized from theknot.com
HAHA that's awesome!

Hi Ladies - Just returned from 12 days in Playa and was married on the 22nd. Everything was everything I could have asked for and more..!! Zulma's last words to me were, just tell all the girls on the forum to be patient. She was on top of everything anqd completely organized. There was not a lot of information on this forum about the hotel we stayed at and were married at but The Gran Porto Real was awesome!! I would definetly go back there again and everyone we brought with us said the same thing. The location was the best that I had been to in my 3+ trips to Playa. You girls will not be sorry you chose these hotels to be married in. Lots to do since we just got back today but feel free to ask me any questions and I will try and answer any I can. =)

Sorry to hear about the ATM, OMG I would die!

Zulma emailed me back today and said she is just beyond crazy, 77 weddings this month I guess.... so I guess we do need to be patient, but its soooo hard!

I am downgrading my package now I think, it was cheaper to do the Eternal romance package and add a cocktail and private reception than to do the Luxury package.

I am struggling with the menu choices though.... ugh...

What is everyone else selecting? Does anyone else have to choose from the Eternal Romance Menu? The 3 course?

stephanie, i have the classic package and i think the menu choices are the same. for the salad, i'm doing the avocado stuffed with crab. for the main course, i'm having the red snapper and the beef tournedo (i had to turn in entree selections - it was about 50-50 - and will need place cards to show who chose which entree). and for the dessert, we're having the paris chocolate shells (which i've heard are amazing!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
