How strict were the dress codes at the restaurants? I am putting together a welcome brochure for my guests and was going to include dress code info for the restaurants. Their website isn't exactly clear so I was hoping to get some words of wisdom!

Also, any other important info you think I should include in my brochures would be great, Thanks!

They are very strict about the men and the closed toe shoe thing. They could be sneakers or something totally casual, but they must be closed-toe for the men. Women could really get away with most anything, although we typically wore sundresses and flat sandals.

Also, has anyone had a negative experience with the spa and their wedding hair/makeup? Trying to decide if I am good-to-go with just bringing pictures from my trial here and going for it day-of, or if I should do a trial there, a couple days before, as well. Everyone have good experiences only???

I cant speak for the spa at the PDC but the one in Cancun did an amazing job!! couldnt be happier with both hair and makeup.. also the lady that was doing another bride next to me she did a great job... i wouldnt waste the vendor fee on that.. just do a trial first if that makes u feel better. i was going to do that but i am a laid back kind of person and just let her do her thing the day of and it came out perfect!!!!!!!

Jordon--- I had my hair done at the Spa at RPD... Zupita did my hair and she did such an amazing job!!! I have long hair so I wanted half up half down curled. She did just that and Im pretty sure she used a whole bottle of hair spray which was fine with me cause my hair didnt fall at all!! My 5 bridesmaides had their hair done there 2 and they were all very pleased with it... I did not have my make up done so I cant help with that but there was a girl getting her's done while I was there and it looked pretty! I just took like 3 differnt pics all the same concept and told her to create something out of the 3 :) I didnt do a trial, I felt kinda nervous but everything turned out just fine.

Not really sure - our guys all wore collared button-down shirts or polo shirts. Sorry, I didn't really notice.

If you go to my review of the Royal, I have pics of several of my girls who had hair or makeup done there. None of them even brought pics and loved how their hair and makeup were done!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
