Do you mean they double booked for the same time/location? So you were also supposed to be in gazebo for ceremony?

Oh man I hear ya. Was her name angie by any chance. I found out the same way. It reall really sucks. Dont bother going through carole the manager there, because they are not out for the brides, trust me. She was very short and rude on the phone. The best thing to do is contact the coroporate people, although I did this and nothing was done(ps so happy i can say all this now that the wedding is done). Its really awful sad.gif. Feel free to say its happened recently to another bride if you want! Me!

Wow, thanks for posting that, that will be a HUGE help! Can we request a certain room, does anyone know (given we request far enough out)? Also, is this map still current?

Thanks for all of your responses ladies. LOL@ Jen-Thanks! I'm going to use that in my reply email. Jen, where did you all have your cake and champagne? How did it work out?fencing.gif

We were booked for the gazebo back in January. Now, Julie (my WC) is saying that there is another wedding in the gazebo for the same time. She said she tried to get "them" to change it, whoever "them" is. You all who have an hour or an hour and a half break between your ceremony and reception, how are you handling it? Here is a copy of the last message I sent her:

Julie,

I, too, am sorry, but this is unacceptable. I'm sure the paperwork was sent from your office to The Royal PDC back in January, correct? There is no way they should have even double booked a wedding for the same time. Don't they have a calendar or something? This is a professional business right? We have already paid tons of money that has printed information. We have booked this wedding back in January and we're just finding out in May that the time is double booked? If we never asked about the reception, what would have happened in December? This is not acceptable. Maybe they need to push the other wedding back an hour. I don't know. My concern is that my wedding goes according to contract. Please forward me the information to contact the corporate offices. This is not acceptable for us.

Here is a copy of the message I got back:

Hi Raveyn,

Ok I think they are going to let you keep the 3pm but said you would have to leave the gazebo right after the ceremony. So that means doing the toast and cake at the garden where the cocktail hour is. Is that ok? Or would you rather have 2pm so you can take your time?

It's a shame we have to go through this!!!! I'm so not liking this place right now! At war with The Royal! fencing.gif

That blows big time. I still haven't heard back from the other day when I emailed them because I my date/time/location was still showing on their website as available, but hopefully that will be confirmed soon.

I'm sorry, girl, you are right- unacceptable.

I would be livid! If you do have to change things they better be comping a few items on your ticket that's for sure!

Hopefully, they really need to get their $HIT together! You should keep following up so they don't do the same thing to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
