well, since I booked with delta travels my TA said I didn't have to pay a deposit for the wedding (don't know why, but apparently its true) but the US WC didn't know this and cancelled my 4pm, actually never booked it we think, and I didn't realize this until Jan (I booked in Sept.) when I called the US WC and she said she had nothing on me. So, since I was so upset they immediately transferred me on to the Mexico WC's and Ive been working with them every since. They gave me a discount on my cocktail hour to make up for it, big woop! And, they are completely booked for weddings on May 14 so it will be plenty packed that day, no later timeslots. Ill try to get the day passes worked out when I get there, b/c that isnt my fault!
    yay. . . we're gradu-umtaded!!!

ooooooh, i would be SO upset if this happened to me! how frustrating!!!

so i guess it's good that they can fit you in on your day at all, huh? still, though, they should TOTALLY cover the day passes for your guests who need them and your cocktail hour should be free! if nothing else, they should be giving you some free updgrades for your stress! good luck with the situation and keep us posted.

i keep telling myself when i start to get stressed that the ONLY things that REALLY matter are rings on our fingers and sand in our toes.

        AMEN!!

I got cheap huppa fabric this weekend... I'm not paying their $450 fee for colored fabric. I found some at a local fabric store for $30 a strand. YEY! I still get my color without breaking the bank! I never find good deals LOL!

that's great! welcome to the world of finding good deals! i hope to find some fabric for the huppa but haven't looked yet.

i've found so many good deals as a result of this forum! a girl at work is getting married a couple weeks after me and i keep passing information along to her because she tells me that i find good deals for everything! i told her that it's out of necessity - there's NO WAY i could afford to have the resort do all these fun little things!

Lynnie, I'm mad for you! Put your foot down, this is unacceptable. Demand EVERYTHING for compensation.

Question, how do we handle it for our guests that don't have anything to do between the cocktail and reception? I think I read something that a bride almost had to pay for her guests getting food/drinks from the royal when they weren't guests. Are they supposed to tell if the person is a guest of the royal or not?? I would hate to tell the guests to not go to a bar/restaurant to get something in between the cocktail/reception. There is probably a 30 min window between cocktail/reception for my wedding.
If they are a non Royal guest then they will have to pay for a guest pass if they want to eat or drink at any bars or restaurants. Can you extend your cocktail hour or start your reception a half hour earlier?

I totally agree!!! That is all that matters. And, honestly, who would be upset with three hours of downtime when ur in Mexico. . .on the beach! I try not to be bridezilla but its so hard when they charge an arm and a leg for the tiniest things. Im just mad in general about that!

I was thinking, who's gonna kick them out if they go to one of the guest's rooms or something. Or a royal guest could just order drinks for them, right

Yeah that's a good point! Also, town is a block away with a bunch of bars that people can hang out at.
Workers at the resort may say something to them if they try to drink there. When I was down there I saw a worker confront an older couple who were walking through the pool area without a bracelet and asked them to leave and escorted them back to the beach area.

We made our cocktail "hour" last one hour and 15 minutes so that we only have 15 minutes between the cocktails and reception. I was worried about people having to leave and come back and the hassle of all of that!
