ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

So I finally made an appointment to try on dresses next Friday ..blah lol. I know I shouldn't discount anything without trying it on, but I have my heart set on a few Maggie Sottero (destinations) options, but I've already called 4 stores and none of them carry them (even though they are listed on the MS site as carrying the line).. :-(

Hi Ladies, I know we talked about this back a few posts and I can't remember who posted it but someone is using a honeymoon registry that is free, would you mind posting that site name again?

Also what are you ladies doing with the ring bearer during the ceremony? Are going to have him sit or stand up with the other grooms men?

oh, trying on wedding dresses is so much fun! just bring someone along with you who you can laugh with and who will make the process more enjoyable (and who you don't mind seeing you nearly naked!).

you will have a fantastic time. my only advice is to try on a LOT of dresses - you might be surprised by what you end up liking! don't discount anything without trying it on. for instance, i did NOT want to try on any "mermaid style" dresses. turns out the one i bought is a fit and flare. not mermaid, but often in the same section of the stores! i can't wait to hear how it goes and what kind of dress you find yourself falling in love with!

hey ladies... anyone know if there are different chair options for the ceremony/reception/tableclothes. my WC isnt emailing me back. suprise supirse. i have 80 people booked already for nov and its screaming me because all the weddings i see online are smaller wedding. Having my wedding in the royal gazebo with everyone sitting on the outside of it and the wedding infront of the gazebo because my WC told me it was the biggest part of the beach and most private. we invited 200+ people and apparently everyone wants a vacation!!

it's not much, but this is the only mention of chairs from my WC (i was asking about the chuppa vs. an arch...)

Normally you get the huppa with the white fabric and chairs with white chair covers. If you prefer the arch with the white metal chairs I can request that.

not sure if it helps a ton, but at least we know there might be some options of sort...

we don't have a RB but do have two flowergirls. I think it would be neat for them to stand with the BM's and the same for your ring bearer! Plus, the flowergirls' mom is a BM so it works out well

one more piece of advice, don't be ashamed to have the ladies at the store to help you pick one out, usually they are very good at noticing body types and what looks best. My dress was the one the manager picked out and would have been my last choice! More importantly, HAVE FUN!!! you have plenty of time so no stress

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
