Then we could all have a some zen :)

I can't wait till April 29th!!! :)

Amen!! I think they need lessons from us. :) Your wedding is a month before mine! almost 2 months for you and 3 for me! woot.gif

Jes, thanks for the info. I think I have hit my budget but oh well!

Is anyone doing two meal options for the reception? I definitely don't want to order all beef or all fish.

Has anyone tried to haggle with the resort on prices. I want to do the dance floor but think that $700 is ridic. Thought about trying to get them to come down.
I am interested in this as well...i want two choices but am not sure if they can do it.

oh yeah the dance floor is sooo expensive! I wanted that so i booked DJ Ivan before the vendor policy change.

For now I'll just make sure I get an updated wedding contract and leave everything alone for a few months here!
that sounds like a plan! you have PLENTY of time to plan. you can get started planning such as the decorations and etc. my advice is that you will change your mind way too many times so when you really like something, give it a week and see if you still want it. for example, i go back and forth with the girls bouquets because i do not want to pay $60 per girl. i have 7 girls so that is a lot of money for me so i decided to DIY pomanders for them but then i changed my mind. i think i finally reached a decision to purchase real touch bouquets from a etsy seller for $25 each.

Ooo, I have AT&T! Thanks for the info! i was thinking about that.

If you have guests who are not staying at the Royal or Gran the rate will be more for them for the actual ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.

However guests at the Gran Porto will not be able to come over to The Royal for anything else besides the wedding unless they purchase a day pass. The rates for the day passes are always changing so you won't know until you get there. There is one exception, guests at the Gran that get the highest level room are free to use both resorts.

You are correct children are allowed to go to any wedding related activities as long as it's a private event.

4 months away! this is the best resource and will help with with everything.
Happy Planning!
I thought it was 15 minutes before the ceremony?

Hi Bmlynch wow thats great you got so many booked so far! and congrats on sending your STD out.

We have been having the same issue however thats the beauty of working with a TA. Out TA Jill matched against any internet sites if they paid in full. If anyone chose to do a payment plan it was a little more but she did an amazing job at coming as close to the rates as possible.

Remember to remind your guests the thing with the internet sites is they usually overbook people. That is a huge problem at a resort that is this popular.

With a TA they have a no bump policy your guests are guaranteed to get on that flight and a room at the hotel. And also internet sites do not offer payment plans.

I'm trying to get rates too! I'm getting married the week before you :) We are inviting 160 people and am nervous about eveyone coming as well, hehe. Did you get a group rate? I'm trying to get a "group rate" but don't want to pay a deposit for each room. I found the best rates so far from Cheapcaribbean.com, but they can't hold rates for more than 24 hours sad.gif

ALL BRIDES - how are your guests booking their rooms?? The whole room process seems way too complicated!

LYNNIE - We are going with 2 entrees (Beef & Snapper) We just have to provide different colors on the place cards to notate who got what.

Here are a few of the questions that I sent to my WC, but hopefully I can get a response here faster.

Is anyone here doing the Eternal Romance package? If so, the hour and a half semi-private reception, what is included here? (food, alcohol, dance floor, sound system?!) Which dance floor is included? (Standard or light up) Can we have this reception on the beach? Also, generally everyone in our trip eats meat, except for two people. Are there vegetarian options for those two? If we do have kids attending, is it an option to hold the reception on the beach at the Gran? I know it seems like a lot of questions, but I'm trying to knock them all out at once.

I originally signed up for the eternal romance package, so I will try to answer the best that I can. The semi-private reception is at one of the restaurants. They section off an area for you, or have it out on the patio is my understanding. You have a 3 course meal that you choose from a menu they provide you. It also includes a standard cake. I think a standard dance floor is included, I know that the light-up one is not. From my understanding, the reception cannot be on the beach, as that is considered a private reception. You are able to upgrade to a private for $10 or $15 per guest, sorry I forgot the exact amount. That is per Real guest, outside guests are more. There is a vegetarian menu that you can choose from as well. I am not sure about having your reception at the Gran, but I would assume that the beach would be considered a private reception wherever you have it...but I could be wrong on that. Happy planning!

Does anyone know how the setup is for private receptions? I am having mine on the beach in front of the gazebo. I have 27 guests plus me and my FI as of now. Is it always round tables? How many to a table? I am contemplating doing two entrees which would cause me to set a seating chart. I'm just curious how difficult this would be for me. I think it will be more hassle than I want, but I am just exploring the option. Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
