ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Lady Di,

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been talking it over with my parents and fiance, and we are still deciding what to do...we are now considering a private reception at the Royal. We talked about movin the wedding to another location. We looked at the Eco Park, and I fell in love, but the prices are crazy. Everything is kinda up in the air for now.

To all....

When you pick the food you are picking for every guest...right? What about picky eaters. I have a friend who will only eat chicken as a meat, and does not like seafood. We also have a guest who is allergic to shellfish. All the meals but the beef have some kind of seafood, or seafood stuffing..lol

As for the cocktail hour, we had many options as well. We went with 3 hot hors d'oeuvres and one cold option. I didn't get to try it but I was told they were AMAZING. I think the most popular was the coconut shrimp and sesame seed chicken skewer.

We went with the Luxury package and went with Ivan at Doremixx for our DJ. He was awesome (and provided the lit up dance floor).

Hope this helps!
Yes please post pictures of the food options.

TW when did you get your quote for your wedding. My original quote said 4 hours and then you have to pay more per guest per hour. When did this 3 hour reception come into effect?

I got the quote in May 09. If you look at the package information on the Royal's website, it says 3hrs for a 35 person reception under the Luxury Package.

We paid more per guest per hour after our 3hr reception was up.

If you were quoted 4hrs, make sure you bring that email with you!

How much did you have to pay for the dance floor? I had read that one girl got it for free, but Ivan is asking for $500. Is that normal?
I saw the $500 on Ivan's pricing list. We didn't ask for the lit-up dance floor and didn't pay for it, but we got it anyways.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
