ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Veronica,

I'm getting married at The Royal Playa Del Carmen on May 7th, 2010 and I'm originally from Baton Rouge (went to LSU) - how interesting! did you post a wedding review? and do you have a link to you professional pictures? I'd love to see them. also, what photographer did you go with?

Thanks!

Hello all,

It's been FOREVER since I've done any posting...i've been popping on once in a while though only on this thread seeing what is going on. I'm starting to get excited again for everything! Just under 5 months until my big day!

We don't have many people booked yet....I think it's too expensive for most. But that is ok with us...as long as I have a few friends/family there with us it will be perfect. We are going away to be able to get away from doing something too big. We have 10 people including us so far and a couple more to book today I think...we have 4 more rooms on hold. Wierd thing is... Transat Holidays told our TA the other day that they are sold out for our dates....I don't think our dates are that popular... Nov 29-Dec 6 and I've been checking online as well and everything I find something at the Royal and click on it, it says it's no longer available. mmmm. guess those people thinking about maybe joining us later might be out of luck!!!

Thanks to all of those that come back and post your beautiful wedding reviews and pics! They really are helpful! I've got Michelle as my wedding coordinator and she has been REALLY great! Getting back to me quite quickly most of the time with my questions. And to all of you that keep asking all the good questions! wink.gif

Just thought I would pop in and say hello. 149 days to go until my big day!!! smile29.gif

Thanks :) I'm not going to use the DJ...I need to save money somewhere, so have my sis in law in charge of putting together music and will just use the sound system hooked up to our Ipods.. As for photographers; I'm not sure about that one. I have a friend that is a photographer that we are waiting on to decide if they can come to the wedding. If so, we will use her as it would be great to have her for our whole stay so she can get lots of different shots throughtout the week as well. If she can't make it - we may just use the resort photographer. I've heard that Ceaser from there is pretty good. I would love to use some of the other really great ones, but just can't afford it.

Happy planning! this site and the people on it are all really great and very creative and helpful.

I thought Elizabeth was fantastic! She and her assistant/daughter were very personable and lovely to be around. She had this knack of blending in so you didn't notice her snapping away yet when it was appropriate, she was able to command attention when she wanted a certain shot (group photos).

She was great with some of our guests who went to her with 'ideas' for photos blush2.gif and a pleasure to have around.

It was one of the best decisions we made booking Elizabeth.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
