ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

So I found out that they do up to 4 weddings in one day! Seems like everyone would be stepping all over each other? She told me no, but still I worry - did anyone have any issues with this??

Hi! During my entire stay there, which was a little more than a week, I only saw 2 weddings ceremonies and 3 receptions, not including mine. There might have been more but honestly, I didn't notice. Even if they say up to 4 weddings a day, that doesn't mean they actually have them. I think mine was the only wedding reception and wedding that day.

Hi everyone-

It's confirmed that we are getting married at the Royal PDC on Nov. 21, 2008! We are so excited. Many thanks to all of you, especially Becky, for answering questions and sending information to help make our decision. Now the questions really start!!

It's time to send STDs and get started with Invitations. My question is what is the best way to have guests make their reservations? I'd love for them to have one place to call to book the resort, airfare, and ground transport...maybe a travel agent? What did you find worked the best? Does the hotel secure a block of rooms for you and if so, how do I go about that? I read that some of you had guests contact the royal directly in order to get a confirmation number. Just wondering if you have any tips that made things run smoothly for your guests.

One more thing, did you sign any initial contract or any paperwork to secure your date?

Many many thanks!

Katy

Hey Katy. We are getting married in August at RPD. We got a travel agent who takes care of everyone's money. She sets everything up for you and she got us a chartered flight to Mexico from Detroit. I was happy to not have to worry about layovers. When we sent out our Save-The-Dates, we ordered magnets that we had custom made. We found a picture of a playa del carmen beach and had that as the background and our info was over it. We also made a website so that we could keep people informed about any updates that we had. Check it out kevinsarah.com - Home

Hi Sarah-
Thanks for the info. I checked out your website...looks awesome! I think it is so cool that you are doing a charter flight. How fun that will be to have everyone together. We went to a Travel Agent yesterday to get everything worked out for the guests are are trying to do a website too. Wish me luck!
Thanks!
Katy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
