Mae-- I can understand how your FI feel's about wanting to have his bestman be his bestman and not both!! We have 40 people going so it was easier for me to find someone otherwise I would be having to pay for it too!! I I wish I could help you out on the dress thing. Im sure it will be just fine tho, NOT TO WORRY!!

Jen-- Most def, take a look at that bill girl!! I think I went over my 100 times and I still had questions!!

Jen -- I couldn't stop staring at the package list once I realized my $1,000 classic wedding was actually $2000 with the $400 weekend fee, and the $600 minister fee! I have everything mapped out on a spread sheet and those two little hidden gems threw me off course for a minute.

Have you ladies ever thought of maybe just doing the "free" wedding ??? I opted for this considering WE LOVE the Master suites and adding things together of the things i would ACTUALLY need and Use.. it made more sense to do that. and i get the officiante  for free :o).....and still saved some money...

I have to say that you do not have to pay for the minister if you book a master or presidential suite.

For the free wedding package we booked the prez suite for an extra 1000 dollars for 5 days and that includes the minister.

There was no way I was paying the hotel 600 dollars for a "minister". I heard they use randoms that work at the hotel!!

ha, the minister I saw was almost certainly not hotel personnel (she even had the right outfit! ; ), but as I said earlier, she was hard to understand. if she did work there, they did a good job hiding her, because I didn't see her in the 9 days we were there (outside of the ceremony she performed ; ).

I know the master suite was more expensive than our ocean view room, but I have to now wonder if it's comparable to the new minister fee. heck, for the same price, you could even bring someone with you with two nights' reservation at the grand porto, provided you could convince them to spring for airfare. ; )

Yes I had thought we had decided that the classic wedding package would be cheaper overall than the free wedding package.  But now I am thinking I may be wrong.  We are staying for 7 days(flight and air package) and to book a master suite would be a extra 1200.00 CAD for us.  I will have to recalculate it.  If we are spending that anyways I would much rather get a better room!! You gals sure keep me on my toes!

Yup.. This is why I booked a Master suite... Why pay $600 when i can use that towards my upgrade.... or better yet some of the packages have things that i wont be using anyways.. from day one I knew i would be getting the free package because we Absoloutly love the master suite.. If your going to get married might as well go all out.. no???  Just something for you ladies to think about..

Umm... I almost wonder now if that would have been the better option for me too?? I am gonna be there for 2 weeks so I guess I figured that I wouldn't be able to afford the master or prez suite for that long :-) Oh well can't change it now!! 15 days till we leave and 17 till the wedding day!!woot.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
