I saw one during my last year site inspection, it was pretty cool and original.  My hubby aka "FI at that time" found it a bit lame...maybe it was a bit too theatrical for his taste.

Thus, it is all about what you want.

Mrs Perez,

LOL! Seriously, nothing beats a nice short and sweet ceremony with your own vows to each other.

As for the video, I hired my friend who is a movie maker as my videographer, I will goto his place with my hubby, have some beers and edit the video together soon.

Hi everyone -

I am brand new to the forum, but am loving all the advice and well wishes.  I just put down my deposit for our wedding in May 2012 at the Royal.  I'm a little nervous because my finance wanted the 6:00 pm time slot, so that's what I reserved.  Will this be too late?  We also want a cocktail hour and reception afterwards.  I was thinking everything happened one after the other, but it sounds like there are hour breaks in between.  Last I checked, there was a 4:00 slot at the wedding gazebo, but every time I call I'm put on hold or told to call back when my contact is working.  I've emailed her but haven't heard back for several days.  I know I should be patient... but its so hard.  I just want the day to be perfect.  Any advice?

Thanks!!

Those pics are beautiful Bonnie! Just contacted Sasha to get a price quote. It's great seeing your pics so my fiancé and I feel like we know what kind of end product we will get. Anyways has anyone ever been to Playa in late March? I PM'ed a April 1st bride but have not heard back. Wondering about the nights because our reception is on the beach and need to know if I should recommend light sweaters. Thanks! Andrea

Andrea,

I went to Puerto Moreles (30 min from PDC) in April, I didn't need to wear a sweater, the temperature was perfect.  However, it was very windy some nites that the resort cancelled those beach dinners.

Again, every year is a bit different, this year they got more rain (consecutive days of rain, not just 30 min drizzles) so..the muzzies were so bad!

We had our wedding at the 6PM time slot and it was perfect, but we had our reception at 7PM but it was at Kool Beach Club.  There was enough time for everything. At first my wedding coordinator said that they could not do a ceremony any later than 5:30 but my on site coordinator said the 6pm slot was not a problem.  I liked having it at 6pm because it was a little cooler, less people hanging around, and we didn't have breaks between parts of the wedding day.

Hilly,

I initially booked the 4pm slot, and then changed it to 5pm when I went to the Royal for site inspection...and due to technical difficulties of them trying to open up the file which contained my walk down the aisle song...my ceremony was pushed to 5:30.  I am pretty sure they are very flexible on the time.

Hi Hilly,

I had a 6pm wedding slot and it wasn't a problem at all. My reception was inside so we were allowed to stay as long as possible. But for outside receptions I believe the cutoff time is 10pm.

It's all about what you want to do. My ceremony was from 6-6:30pm, after that we went into champagne and open bar cocktails for an hour, then immediately into the reception.

The timeline is what you want it to be. And I agree - 6pm was cooler and not alot of people around.

Hopes this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
