ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

we are/were planning on it, but after reading the script, I'm not so sure. there are a lot of hoops to jump through with the blood tests and additional documentation - not to mention arriving in mexico 4 days before the wedding. I'm on the fence about it now.

We're not having a legal ceremony... It really is a lot to deal with. We're going to have a quick legal ceremony the day before we leave, but we're not going to tell anyone. We're also going to have my future brother-in-law officiate in Mexico, which is so much more personal and saves us the officiant fee. I just figure that my Mexico wedding will be the day I wear my dress, say the vows I write, and exchange rings with my fiance. It will always be my true wedding in my heart, regardless of when I signed the paperwork in the US.

Arica, great review, thanks for sharing!  Just what I needed...I leave TOMORROW!!!   I cannot believe it.  I'm glad to hear the hair and makeup went well, I am using the resort as well.  I just printed out my photos to show them :)

Jennie, glad to hear it went well!

We also did a legal wedding, just to make it easier.  We went by outselves and did not tell a soul, and did not wear rings after or call each other husband or wife.  Honestly, it was a nice personal day with just us, but marriage is about being committed in front of society, so I still don't feel "married" until we get down there and say the vows in front of our parents, etc.  And I get to call him husband!

Alright ladies, thank you so much for all of your help!!!  I have to go pack.  I'm so excited!woot.gif

was anyone able to successfully purchase day passes for your photog(s) instead of paying the outside vendor fee? or did you have to pay the outside vendor fee AND purchase day passes? if there is an assistant, does that mean you have to pay TWO fees?

uggghhhhh. the most expensive part is getting expensive-r. : (

We just paid the $350 outside vendor fee and they had no problem. The photographer showed up with his assistant and told the front desk they were here for our wedding, they called the wedding coordinator and once she confirmed they were allowed in they we both given passes for the event. We had no hassle with this at all.

We were told if they were a guest we didn't have to pay the vendor fee.  So we booked a room at the cheapest "REAL" resort, it was 90 for the night.  We just booked the room no meal plan, added them to our guest list and we're feeding them at the wedding.  We saved a little over 150 I believe.

I am new to BDW and interested in all the feedback on this website! I was wondering if anyone can give me feedback to the beach ceremony at the Gran Caribe? I am currently scheduled for a 5pm ceremony in May. I am just worried that it will be too hot. Anyone have any beach ceremony experiences? I appreciate it!

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
