ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Shannon, You do have time on your hands today! But thank you thank you because so do I and the more time I have to sit here and plan with no answers from my TA the more pissy I get! So I will plan on the package at the listed price and then do my upgrades/additions.

IF and WHEN you do find out about the Dance floor, please please let me know! I will probably be expecting a small group as well (under 20) and I do not plan on using a DJ either (using that money for a better photographer!) so I want to know if I will still get the light up dance floor. (I really do want that! and at 50pp I would really hope we could!)

Holy Cow, we have a lot of wedding days coming up!! I feel like mine is a million years away! I am surrounded by snow! I wish it was here now!

Shay is right- I too was able to lock in the 2008 rates for my wedding in (eek) a few months... It's just a few dollars difference, but I'll take any savings I can get! I agree that I wish we could "trade-out" the things we do not want/need- we aren't too interested in a cake since we're doing the 4 course dinner and have an AWESOME cake for our AHR! I'll try to sweet-talk Micala and I'll let you girls know when I get back!

From what I too have been told was that the light-up dance floor was provided by the outside DJ. I'm with you guys and not paying extra for this- our people are more into drinking and chatting than cutting a rug, anyway!

Istephiez, I think the slide show sounds really cool, but I'm not sure if they'll have the equipment to show it on the beach. We're like Shay and doing it at the AHR also.

Roahrig- We've got to meet up! I'll be there on the 15th! How cool is that!!!

We're doing the Classic Wedding Package and upgrading the decor to the chuppa setup on the beach (I'm still obsessed with it, Shay!)

Wow how exciting that we have so many upcoming weddings. I haven't picked a package nor sent a deposit and have asked and get no answer on when they need anything answered by. It sounds to me like they want to make a lot of the decisions when we actually get down there. I of course want it all sorted out a couple months ago :)

Anway, I just want you guys to know how much I appreciate everyones thoughts and ideas. I, too have relied on all of you to make me feel a little more connected to Mexico and the way to get things done.

As for the slideshow Zulma told me that the DJ can do it but there was no cost of explanation back as far as specifics. I asked when we book the DJ and she said 2 weeks before. Not sure if I should be contacting someone on my own.

We are guessing that we will have about 70 people at our wedding so dancing is a must but not sure about the lighted dancefloor. It looks cool but also a little clubbie in my opinion.

Shay we get to Mexico May 11th, maybe you and your husband will still be there and we can meet up!!

Stephanie...I was wondering if you, by chance, had kept this picture of the linens in the gazebo. It is what I've been looking for, for weeks...and cannot find an image to relay to Micaela about what I want.

If you have it...can you post it, or send it to me? I'd appreciate it sooo much (or just the site you might have seen it on)!

Thanks.

Hi Ladies,

I'm trying to figure out if I want to book my wedding reception at the Royal for November 17, 2009 but I am having a hard time with receiving ANY information from there.

Can any of you lovely ladies possibly PM/email me the information sent to you from the WC at the Royal? I don't have enough points to open any of the attachments up and wanted to review pricing, menus, flowers, options etc.

Also, I read and just wanted to confirm that the Royal does not host receptions at any of their restaurants - you HAVE to do a private event.

Thanks Ladies :)

THANK YOU! It's not exactly what I want...but...certainly closer than anything I've been able to find...I drew it in Photoshop...and...let's just say its...comical!

This is going to help a lot!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
