ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Ok let the drama begin in my family. It's time for the seating arrangements lol My FI's parents are divorced and do not want to sit together. My dad wants us to sit with him and we want to sit with our bridal party. That is only a piece of this drama. With 85 guests coming my dream of not having assigned seating has gone straight out the window sad.gif I was praying this day would never come and it has arrived.

So I have to ask the girls I trust most are you guys sitting with your parents or bridal party or neither?

We're sitting with neither. We didn't want anyone to get upset or their feelings hurt that we'd pick one over the other so we're going to have a sweetheart table and just me and the hubby sitting together. Our first date/meal as a couple, figured we'd keep it as intimate as you can with 40 people and a DJ there lol love.gif

A sweet heart table is a great idea! Thanks! My divorced parents (one re-married and one in the middle of a divorce) are both coming and I can't imagine putting them at the same table...LOL!!! So for the sake of chosing between parents I think we will sit alone...HAHA!!

Jes, I hadn't really thought about it. My parents were divorced and my mom remarried, but my dad passed away 6 yrs. ago. Also, my FFIL passed away 5 years ago. So, we wouldn't have lots of drama pairing our moms & my stepdad together if we sat with the bridal party. It's really sad that you can't make the seating arrangements you like because of that. Can you have a heart to heart with them about it? Will it matter? I really hope everything works out for you.

We're doing a sweetheart table too. My parents are divorced as well. I have my dad & stepmom sitting with some of my friends that they know, and my mom will be sitting with her family & friends. It works out well luckily!

I also didn't want to have assigned seating, but my sister (who has planned alot of weddings), said that is a bad idea because people will spend a long time trying to find a seat. Then people end up moving place settings and it ends in a problem.

We are doing a sweetheart table as well, to avoid any hurt feelings from either side. I would have preferred to sit with our bridal party but I think my FMIL would make a big deal about it. She is such a drama queen and I don't feel like dealing with any unnecessary aggravation.

yeah, i'd like to at least get something for my money! do you have him staying at gran porto or royal? my plan is gran porto on thurs & fri nites (wedding on fri at 4pm) so that way he can come over at 1pm from gran porto on fri & start photos (sun sets at 5:15pm so gotta get the pix in!)

I'm actually having him stay at The Real Playa del Carmen.  It's the least expensive of the "sister" resorts - it's not an all-inclusive but still part of the Real Resorts family, and therefore it doesn't cost extra for guests staying there to attend the wedding festivities.  My wedding is Thursday afternoon, so he's staying Wed and Thurs nights.
