ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Ravelyn, we just decided not to file a marriage certificate with the county. We don't want to get married again. We just need the marriage certificate translated to English in case anyone questions us about our marriage and if i want to change my last name. I am pretty sure SS office won't accept it unless its in English.

I see. I wouldn't want to get married again either because you had your real (and legal) ceremony already. That US website you posted said your marriage is legal so it is. Good for you that you found a solution you're happy with! Where are you going for your late honeymoon?

Hello Ladies! I am a newbie getting married at the Royal in April, 2011. I was originally going to get married at the Palladium, but I switched to the Royal. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi N&J2011! Welcome!
The ladies here are super knowledgable and friendly. This thread will answer questions you have or didn't even know you had!

It's long, but going through the past posts, while jotting down some notes, definately helps in the planning process =)

See you around!

Hey Ladies,
Sorry I haven't been on in a while since my wedding, but just a little update on the marriage license/name change situation with a Mexican marriage license. It all worked seamlessly! I didn't have to have it translated at all. If you go to the SS office first, that is the best bet. They have Spanish speaking people there for all the Hispanics in the states, so they are perfectly able to find somebody to translate it there. All they need off of it is the location, date, and a certificate number off of your license. I took both papers in...the one with our parents' information, and the other one with our witnesses' information. I actually just walked the lady through it in English, pointing out the different areas of the license where she needed information. It all went through just fine, only took about 10 minutes in total. Once my SS card came in the mail a week later, I took it in to get my drivers license. I took in my new SS card, and my marriage license. They basically only needed the SS card, and said all was good. And this is Nebraska....I'm sure it'd be even easier in Texas with the large Hispanic population. Basically, the most trouble I had was at my bank. They didn't have anyone in the entire bank system that could read my marriage license, so I just had to wait for my drivers license and SS card in order to change my name on my account.

Hope that helps!

We are staying at Secrets Maroma in October after attending his cousin's wedding in Cozumel. I am excited!

Hello Everyone!

I have been lurking in the background while we sorted details ( I did add my date awhile back so it felt real! hehe). For awhile we were feeling family pressures to change our resort. But we have decided to stand our ground and get married at the Royal!

Looking forward to trying to read through at least some of the history in here and trying to keep up with the present stuff.

I do have one question. I believe guests not staying at the Royal or Grand Porto need a day pass to attend the wedding? (insert family pressure here) Anyone had any problems with this? Also do you know the cost?

Thanks!

    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
    • Hello everyone,  I am still engaged, still not planning the big day, because we haven't chosen a date + we have some family stiff to do so I hope that this forum will help me a lot before the real craziness during the wedding planning period. Happy to be here
