My experienced playa girls.... I know you can buy cigars there but does anyone know how much we can expect to spend on some cheap cigars for the reception?

Also, girls that have used petals... don't they blow away? I really really really want petals but I can't see spending $20 a bag on petals only for them to blow away....

AHHHH yay girls! You day is coming SO SOON! Be optimistic about the rain. It's your day, nothing can ruin it. Can't wait to see your pictures/read your reviews.

Welcome back Lady Di!!! I LOVE White One wedding dresses! Great choice!

She is!!! She is awesome. I need to do my review soon... It's so hard to get back to normal and being sick didn't help! I'll post one this week!

Also, Any opinions on this? Zulma told me she needed 1 week notice on my flower choice in case they needed to be imported, but when I responded with questions in order to help make my decision- she has been MIA again and now its too late to get anything imported.... Do they have to import roses, cali lillies or gerber daisies??
i'm so sorry to break it to you, but i was a little sad, too, when i found out i couldn't have calla lillies. they don't offer them after april. i was only two weeks into may and was told that there was no way i could get them. i think just the orchids (and any other "exotic" flowers) are imported. the ones in the standard bouquets should be available.

i just had a symbolic ceremony, but i had a sand ceremony and a hand ceremony. both took place after the vows.

it's not really ceremony at all, but that's what they call it (whoever "they" are!). you hold hands and the officiant reads some beautiful words. i'm totally gonna butcher it, but it talks about these being the hands that love and comfort you now, the hands that will hold you family (and your children), the ones that reach for you and hold you now and that they will be the hands that do all of these things when you're old. the real one brings a tear to my eye, but i can't remember it all right now.

check out the "post your ceremony" script and there are lots of people there who have incorporated this into their weddings. i haven't posted my script, but a lot of others have. plus, this thread was SUPER helpful when trying to come up with my ceremony. i took bits and pieces from a LOT of the postings, added some of my own stuff and came up with a ceremony that i absolutely loved (and that made our guests cry. a lot).

Thanks, i didnt know about this either... I'm totally gonna do it!

FI had a change of heart this past weekend and now wants to do a symbolic ceremony (he's Canadian so I guess it will just be easier if we make it legal beforehand).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
