This is my opinion to why they are making you pay the extra $100. This policy of paying the vendor's fee if you book directly was probably made so that The Royal makes money. Basically, if you book him direct and pay no vendor's fee then the resort gets nothing (and we ALL now how they feel about getting as much as they can!). Now, since the new price list in December, they are all working together, overcharging us and splitting the profits. I am booking through him and don't have to pay the extra fee but-hell-I'm paying about $1600 for him and the floor.

Beachbum & Diane P.,
I do think I'm going to hand the OOT bags out. That way, I won't have to check with everyone to make sure they got their bags or if everything was in them. Beachbum, I love the knocking and running! Too funny!
I think I paid 1550 or 1600 for his service (not booked through resort). I haven't inquired as to whether or not there would be the 350 dollar vendor fee (but there BETTER not be). I did notice that this is for 3 hours and not the 3-4 listed through the Royal.

Hi I am getting in 2010 but when I was looking in 2009 rates did not very that much from 2010. What month are you looking for?

January is really expensive compared to other months so some ties rates can really vary depending on the month your looking into.

We just changed our wedding date this week due to 2011 prices coming out. For Real lowest room rate from Jan-end of March was $488/night. I didn't want my guests paying that, so it was worth it just to move it up to December. Check out their website, 2011 rates are listed.

Flights really fluxuate depending on the area and all...our flights right now are about $470 from Albany-Cancun.

LOL thanks. Go right on ahead! This is just how we act sometimes so it fits our personality.

And this is what sucks so much cause I can fathom forking out $700 for a dance floor as *much* as I want to. Guess I'll be dancing in the sand!

Di, no problem & thanks for all of the measurements. You totally rock!

Beachbum, I felt like that too, but after seeing so many pics, I gotta have it! LOL!

Lisa, when did you book? I'm sure you have the dance floor too, right?

I'm so glad this worked out for you. I went through the same stress of changing mine from Jan 1 and I'm so relieved, I'm sure you are as well (now that it is done).

Hi ladies,

I have reserved the gazebo for my wedding, and then the gazebo terrace for the reception. Does anyone have pics of the terrace? I am having second thoughts. Perhaps the garden would be better. My FI doesn't want to do the beach, so thats out. Any thoughts, pros and cons, to the locations? Any help from the ladies who did site visits would be great!!!

Also, does anyone know the max number of people that can sit inside the gazebo comfortably?

Thanks for the help! I tried to email the WC in michigan but you know how that goes...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
