The girls chose this dress:
David's Bridal - Strapless Jersey A-line with Pleating and Ruched Charmeuse Bust

In the Horizon color.

They tried it on and loved it...except for the MOH. She wants to shorten it because she thinks it will be too hot for Mexico. I have to somewhat agree, I was surprised they picked out long dresses.

I can't ask the other girls to shorten their dresses since they like it long and they are already spending money they don't have.

I want to know your opinion on having the bridesmaids with long dresses and the MOH with the same dress but shortened. Do you think it will look odd?
No way, it won't look odd! Let every girl show their personality. :)

I don't think it will be odd at all. I think it's great to give the girls the option and let them decide what they want.

HAHA that's funny cuz I asked my MOH to pick out some cocktail or tea length dresses and she sent me that one saying "i know it's not tea length" I told her it was fine if she wants because I expect it to get chilly by the beach at night anyway. It's definitely cute. I shortened two dresses a few years ago when I was a bridesmaid and it wasnt cheap (if i remember correctly 80 bucks), so she may not want to. I don't think it matters too much (IMHO) , especially since it's your MOH.

I don't think it will look odd at all. Let people wear what the like and are comfortable in.

I have a MOH, 1 BM and the best man is a woman (FI's sister) and they are all wearing completely different dresses. All of the dresses are by the same designer. My MOH and BM's dresses are a dark plum purple and his sisters dress is one shade lighter but all different style dresses. He wanted his sister to wear a shade lighter so he doesn't look like he's all by himself.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a contact for someone higher than the US office. I am pretty much depressed and worn out with what has happened with my booking/contract and trying to get the ceremony time place that is on it back that I just dont know what to do. I dont want to post the details till I get it figured out but if anyone knows someone I can talk to that actual cares about the bride that would be awesome.

Thanks!

Jen

we are considering just going with a cheaper package and do a la carte but that means we might get $300 vendor fee instead $100 if we sign a new contract. booo.

Ya, I would make a BIG fuss if they say they won't keep you at the $100 fee because you paid your deposit waaaaaaaaaaaaaay long time ago. That should be the determining factor. We're supposed to be allowed to change our package up until we make the payment 45days out anyway, right?

No kidding! I'm sorry Lady Di smile27.gif
Good luck! Hopefully a family member will step in here for you and let people know what the deal is so you & FI don't have to deal w/all that.

Also, I cut off my bracelet for the wedding and so did my bridesmaids we all were able to get new ones - it was not an issue. But they are SUPER strict about making sure you have your bracelet on at all times. But it kinda sucks when you go off property like down 5th Ave. All the shop vendors know what bracelet goes with what resort so they try to get you in their shop but saying things like "Hey Gran Porto - come in here" its kinda annoying. oh well! :-)
Thanks for that!
Good to know on the webcam! I thought about doing that at the beginning of planning, but when I head the $300, we said no way!
I read somewhere that the bracelets were clear so I thought that was pretty neat and, also, that people wore them on their ankles. Not sure if either of those are truehuh.gif I think I read it on playa.info or something...

I agree w/the other ladies. I think it will look great! I love that blue, btw! That is a simple, elegant dress that will look pretty either way.

All 3 of my girls are wearing completely different dresses that they picked themselves so they'll be comfortable (2 BM's bright yellow & MOH turquoise), but we're doing pretty non-traditional all around. I'm wearing an awesome, short dress that I got for $70 online, lol.

We are getting married the week after you and only a few of our guests have booked. I looked last night and almost all of the rooms were sold out. I hope my guests book soon.

The Michigan WC office is a mess. One of their WC's got arrested for DUI this weekend. I now have a new WC because of it. The new one is fantastic. Thank goodness for the change b/c the old one was not doing her job.

They have 7 WC's total, plus 3 new ones in training.
I don't know anyone higher up. Sorry.
But I bet if you call their reservations line, they may give you access to someone higher up if you ask.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
