I wouldn't take it back though! I know once I'm overlooking the beach while sayiing "I Do" it will be the right decision. You just have to take the leap and deal with it until it's that time. No worries, it will be great!
I'm just like you.. my two BM chose a convertible dress from victoria secret that they can actually wear again and chose their own colors. This way they each get to decide how they want to wear the dress. The two GM chose khaki shorts and a white button down. I could really care less. We are doing simple and laid back. That's another reason why we did a la carte. The only thing that we really wanted was the beach reception. My friend who is joining us is a photographer and she's doing the pics, we did bouquets from Michael's with Real touch flowers. (BTW you should have seen us trying to put those together. It was hysterical, but we found a lot of "how to" video's on youtube!) It saved a ton of money, though, and ended up turning out really nice. We are doing playlists on an Ipod for music. Oh, and the STD or "announcements" we got from vistaprint.com (thanks to this forum) and we got them free except shipping. For 100 and the envelopes it barely cost 20$

Is anyone having trouble with this situation??: I used to have Kimberly (before she quit) and she and I agreed on several things IN WRITING over email. Now, even with the proof of the email convo, I am being told she was wrong and they cant do anything. How is that a way to do business?

Soooooooo frustrating. I know they may be overloaded with all of us, etc, but that, to be frank, isn't our issue. We have a contract that they accepted and expect certain things and as a business, they shouldn't be able to renege on already decided options.

Grrrrrr. Sorry to vent. I am just so irritated.

Hey Ladies,

I won't be on the site much anymore. I am getting into my busy season at work. I was an October 2009 Royal Playa del Carmen bride. If I can help you with anything, please send me a PM.

Best luck to all of you. The Royal Playa del Carmen was the best choice we could have made!

duprk452, I'm doing it the same way as you, very simple! Also using an ipod with all of our music. I made all my BM's bouquets and bouts with the help of a friend with silk flowers from hobby lobby (like Michaels, total $60!!) BM's are wearing their own black dresses and we made our own invites, STD's and programs. It has all been so cheap! Its the way for us to go and I am so happy. Im not doing anything for decorations at our reception because the beach is our decoration.

I thought about starting my own thread, but since this seems to be where The Royal/Real brides hang out, I'll just ask here! We're getting married at the Royal Playa del Carmen in May '10. I'm going nuts trying to pick centerpieces/my bouquet/bridesmaid bouquet because none of them match each other! I was just sent a new catalog for all of them. So anyway, my question is...can you say, "I want this centerpiece, but can you make it all white?" Or are they not going to budge? Is this something you talk to Angie about or wait and talk to the WC once you're down there? Thank you in advance!

Yes, to upgrade from the semi-private to private reception, there is an "upgrade" rate of $15pp for the 15 guests already included in the Classic package. For each additional person it is $25.

I will PM you about the photographers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
