OMG!!! I am floored, I cannot believe this. I think it is possible that it may have to do with time of year. I am getting married in November which is low season for them. When are you getting married? That is the only thing I can thik of. I'm mean this is just ridiculous. There has to be a reason as to why their prices are diffrent..ggrrrrrrrrrrrr

Jesmcan,

Do you happen to have in writing or an email the prices they quoted you that you could email to me? erazo_adriana@yahoo.com. If not, no worries at all,

but get this, she emails me back with this:

Hola Adriana,

I’m diving crazy and trying to get the real information.

Just to making this clear, I’ve work here for more than three years, the prices for 2009 and next year are the same (attached)

I’m trying to give you all the explanations possible only with the interest you would like to join us, please make sure we don’t have any exceptions to anybody, just want to make sure everybody have a nice time.

Sorry again and hope to hear from you soon.

I am literally so confused by all of this. No I do not have an e-mail anymore I'm sorry. Once we booked it I didn't think I needed it any more. I just pasted everything into a word doc and kept it for my wn personal reference. Did you ask if time of year varies and maybe also people? We are having 100.

After all the hupala with DJ Ivan and the rate changes I e-mailed Angie. I sent her over an excel sheet with everything itemized with the prices. I basically did her job for her. All I asked was for her to cofirm the prices for me and have them to me by today. That was four days ago, I re-emailed her again, guess what nada.

I am beyond frusterated and fed up with the Royal at this point. I will keep everyone posted on what we end up doing and how the prices differ if you book everything your self and do a non-resort wedding.

Best
Jess

I am getting quite frustrated, as well. When I spoke with Angie a week ago, about this whole DJ stuff, she was supposed to get back to me - I sent her 2 emails and she was going to call me, haven't heard anything. I also haven't heard from my WC at the resort since I put the deposit down, I have sent her a few emails as well. At this point, all I want to know is the price that we were hopefully locked in at when we put down the deposit to reserve our day, and what is happening with other DJ vendors besides Ivan.

It feels like once we put our deposit down, the communication became horrific - I know that November was their busy season, but still....

I completely agree. I never heard back from Zulma after our site visit. And Angie still has not confirmed the prices. I am working on speaking to someone higher up at The Royal who will answer all our questions. I am more concerned about the constant changing of rates, fees, and other stuff.

Hi Ladies -

The dj stuff seems pretty confusing - thanks for keeping us all updated as things change.

In terms of the sailing prices - has anyone looked into other companies in the area like Fat Cat Sailing or Paradise Catamaras? Maybe they have more consistent prices?

And does anyone have experience with playaweddings.com for photography?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
