ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Thanks Jesmcan!

Sorry i've been MIA lately on the board ladies! After we got back from Mexico, we had our at-home reception 2 weeks later.. so it's been a very busy November! Everyone that are getting married at Royal soon, trust me you won't be disappointed! Even hurricane Ida couldn't ruin my wedding. The Royal grounds were beautiful and the staff was beyond accommodating. We will be returning to the hotel again soon! P.S. Elizabeth Medina is sooo amazing at what she does and is such a sweet heart! My husband and I really enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend her to anyone that is still in search of a photographer!

hey ladies. I know i cant believe i found a dress so quickly. I went to 2 places and though i wanted a maggie sottero one shoulder dress called summer but when i tried it on i just couldnt imagine myself on the beach it was just to heavy. I got a private designer from bridal reflection Christine Anthony(any brides from ny area go there!) Ill try to put on some pics soon. When people say they just know i didnt believe them but when you see yourself in the dress you just get this feeling like this is the one and it feels amazing!!

Sendign out save the dates after the holidays and trying to make a brochures/things to do list. anyone have a good idea on how to do this? i didnt get a TA and figured WC can help with booking the rooms and then flights the guests can do on their own. do you put all this info with the save the dates? getting nervous im going to miss something.

So, I ended up shipping ALL of my items to The Royal. I had a total of 6 boxes. It was a bit stressful because about 4 of my boxes got stopped by customs... but, they ended up going through. I had one box that they would not allow and it is because it had shells in the box. Something I did not know - shells are not allowed into Mexico. Who would have thought. It all ended up working out because they shipped the box back to us and we ended up bringing it with us and got through without any problem. What would you be shipping? I have to admit it was awesome having everything there when I arrived, but it was a little stressful making sure it got through customs. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Congrats on finding your dress! Did you go to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa or the city? Are they reasonably priced? I don't mind spending a decent amount (aprox. 2k) on the dress. But some places like Kleinfelds (NYC) unless you're willing to spend 5k they don't have a big selection for you. I'm going to start looking for my dress soon.

(good to know about the seashells!)

cant wait to hear your review and congrats!
Hi Adrianna.... I think have receipts inside the boxes as well as a detailed description of what each item is going to be used for. ie... 50 maracas - price = xx using these for decoration at my wedding taking place xyz. The more information you can put in the boxes with each item is for the better. I sent my stuff over approximately 3 weeks before my wedding. Honestly, if it weren't for the seashells it would have all made it there. I did talk to fedex about 5 times a day to ensure they knew everything was for a wedding... we sent it fedex international priority.

Thanks,
Teri

i am just curious what people think of the ballroom (who have been there). we are planning on having the reception there (and ceremony in the gazebo). we know it isn't the typical destination location, but we like the idea of having the reception feel a bit more 'traditional' and the change of scene for everyone who has been outside all week. but there aren't too many pics. i've seen some from djs etc, and it looks decent. nothing extraordinary, but nice enough. i was just wondering what other people's opinions were. thanks :)

I know the reception would be moved to one of the ballrooms but i never knew about the ceremony - does anyone have any photos they could send me of that location? Curious to see what it looks like:

My email is erazo_adriana@yahoo.com

Thanks!
Hi Adriana,

Look back at my site review and click on the link for the photos I put up on Shutterfly. (sorry I am at work and I can't access the link to copy paste it for you right now). You will see a picture of a hallways with marble floors with a cross and fountain at the end. That is where the ceremony gets moved if it rains. I actually think it looks really beautiful when you see it in person.

Jsmcan-

i saw the pic of the hallway you are talking about for the ceremony if it rains. It looks pretty small and if i rememember correctly from our site visit on where this is located, it is a small hallway of an area. Are you worried? I know your having a big wedding too, can you imagine having like 75 people standing in that hallway, Pray it won't rain! lol =)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
