ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

The beach in front of the Royal is busy. But they do a good job of blocking it off JUST before the reception starts. The beginning part of your reception ( if you have it during daylight hrs at all there will be some people milling about). But once it gets dark its deserted.

Stephanie - The staff does a great job clearing the area. There is a Volleyball net right near that restaurant but they make sure its down and the pp are gone in time for your ceremony. Trust me - the staff at the Gran Porto/ The Royal are First Class - they really know what they are doing. :-)

Thanks so much!

Hi Adriana,I just got married in May and used the Royal's spa. You get a private room which is really large. I would recommend using their services. I do know that the resort charges a $100 vendor fee ( not sure if that would apply to makeup). They gave us free champagne in that room and it was so relaxing!! You can even lounge outside the rooms in the spa courtyard next to a mini pool with a fountain - its so peaceful!! The staff at the spa are really fast too - they did my hair and makeup in an hour!

I was worried about my hair and makeup going into my wedding day but everyone on this forum reassured me - i am SOOO glad i used them. Plus it was easy to have it right at the spa - and much more relaxing.
If anyone is looking for a cheaper place to get nails done there is this tiny spa right next to the Gran Porto on Constitutional Ave. Its much cheaper and they do a great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just and FYI - the MAC store is WAAAY down 5th ave near the ferry to take to Cozmel. I wouldn't bother.
Just my 2 cents!
Thanks for information! i guess it is not really worth it if its way down 5th ave. sad.gif

Shannon + olsontco - thanks... that really helps!! I'll book the gazebo and then decide whether to use to gazebo or the beach when I get there. Has anyone seen a reception set up at the gazebo?? I imagine that would be a really pretty option too!

It's official...we have booked June 21, 2010. I'm going to be a Royal bride and I'm so excited. We are doing our ceremony at 5pm.

Thank you all for the feedback and information that you have posted. It's been instrumental in our decision!

Hi Stephanie -

I think we are going to arrive on June 17th. What a bummer we'll just miss each other. It would have been great to catch up with you right before you left!

If you get in early enought on the 17th maybe we can stop for a drink in the lobby on the way out! Our flight leaves at 3pm on the 17th I think. Or I'll just leave you something at the front desk! wink.gif
