My experiance has been that people book when they want to not when you want them too. hahaha. We JUST had a groomsmen and his wife book today three months before the wedding FINALLY. And they wouldnt give us a for sure until yesterday! Craziness. We got our travel agent to hold a rate for us up to 45 days prior to the wedding which is great!

So good luck with all your guests, it will all work out in the end!

You still have plenty of time and most of guests will book a few months before your wedding. I only have 21 guests booked and we are almost 4 months out. Half of our bridal party are not booked yet.

Agreed. It's a matter of opinion!

Hey Ladies,

I am new to this thread, but I have been reading all of your comments for the last couple months getting ideas. I was just wondering how you are wording your invites. I see a lot of examples where people list the resort at the bottom, then playa del carmen, mexico. but with the resort name The Royal Playa del Carmen, how are you ladies listing it? Any help would be great!

Thanks much.

Hey girls,

I hope that your holidays went well! I have been MIA a bit with the forum, there was a lot of catching up to do! That is crazy that you are all having problems with communication. I am not sure if my wedding planner has had these problems, mostly she has been fighting with Air Canada, because they are not very good with their customer service.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about the age restriction at the resort. I know it is 16+, but my FI has an uncle who wants his daughter to come, she will be 15 and a half. Do you think they are flexible with the age a bit, or are they super anal about it?

Thanks!

Shirley (October 28th, 2010)

Hi everyone I was originally supposed to stay at the Royal but had to move everyone because of cost. I am leaving in a few hours for my wedding but I wanted to thank everyone here on this thread who helped along the way. I am just a groomzilla but you all made me feel welcome and were so helpful. Thanks again and best of luck to all of you on your upcoming weddings.

We have made our final payment as well, and finally got confirmation back from Angie for our "rehearsal dinner" at The Royal. She said that she would now be passing us along to Zulma, my wedding coordinator at The Royal, as she'd be better able to answer the rest of my questions. Hopefully she'll be in contact with me soon!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
